It's time for my daily weather rant....cold, gray, windy and trying it's hardest to spit a rain/sleet/snow mixture. YUCK!!! I know yall are sick of hearing this, BUT, I need my sunshine. There's not enough Lexapro, Xanax and vitamin D3 in the world to combat the wintertime blahs this season. It's truly been a long, hard winter.

YEAH for Humpday. That means I'm halfway to my beloved weekend. The neighbors have been busy building some raised beds for their garden. I've got a wonderful view from the dining room and front porch. I'm ready to get the seed catalogs out and start planning what I'll plant this year. There's something so relaxing about piddling and puttering around the garden. Very therapeutic. How many of yall garden? what do you grow? My Grandfather was a "truck" farmer so I have great memories about his huge gardens from my childhood. He'd raise huge crops of watermelons, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and green beans. When they were ready he'd pick them and haul them by the truckload to the farmers market in Norfolk that the restaurants and grocery stores bought from. I wonder what he'd have to say about my pots of tomatoes that I grow on the back deck?

Today's plan looks like:

Commute: Coffee

Breakfast: 1/2 bagel with cream cheese and fruit

Lunch: Vegetable soup

snack: Greek Yogurt w/ handful of granola

Dinner: Homemade BBQ from the leftover pork loin from last night & coleslaw

LNS: Celery & Peanut Butter (with an iron supplement)

Yall remember those vitamins and get to drinking tha****er.

Good morning BOTTs.

I tried to have a garden in containers last year.  My green thumb (or lack there of) turned out to be fairly expensive (containers, baby plants of tomatos, squash, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, potting soil, plant food, fertilizer, and water) and completely non-productive.  I was bummed because my mom is a wonderful gardener.  So I will live vicariously through you, Iris, and others who grow some goodies while I continue to shop at the local grocery stores and occasionally a farmer's market.

The big news here in San Diego is that we should be getting some rain Friday and possibly Saturday, too.  Fingers and toes crossed.

Breakfast:  Oatmeal with splenda

Snack:  SF hot chocolate

Lunch:  2 hard boiled eggs

Snack:  Celery and peanutbutter

Dinner:  Fish (tilapia, I believe) and veggies

Snack:  apple and string cheese

Exercise:  stair climbing

Ready to get started drinking water for the day.  Vits:  check

Have a wonderful day...Happy Hump Day!!!!

Tess said that she would be lurking around the forum and that if we needed her to send her a private message at anytime but she had a lot of work and family matters to attend to.

I hate it when "real" life gets in the way like that.

I miss her daily reminders to stay on track.

Well, I'm here in the Northern part of the State...Pennsylvania and it is COLD.  It was 29 degrees this morning and they were predicting SNOW, not a lot but never the less snow!  This has been a crazy winter for us...more snow than I every want to see again.

I'm suppose to meet up with friends after work for a 4 mile training run, but I think it's just a little too cold for me. Hopefully the coordinator will send a text message and cancel...yay!!!

My plan for today:

EM-EAS Chocolate Protein Shake

Breakfast - 3 slices of Turkey Bacon w/Oatmeal

Lunch - 3oz. Roasted Chicken Breast w/Field Greens & Northern Lite Italian Dressing

Snack - Chobani Greek Starwberry/Banana Yogurt

Dinner - Baked Sweet Potato w/ Green Beans (no meats)

LNS - EAS Chocolate Protein Shake

Later!!!

We've got another regular member on here who likes the Turkey bacon as well. I can't quite bring myself to try it. I may need to rethink that if I have a decent crop of tomatoes this summer just for BLTs.

That be ME, Iris, lol!  Still loving it!  Haven't posted for awhile (since Tess took her hiatus) but visiting every day.  I'm hanging around MFP mostly since my regain is gone (hallelujah!!!) and I'm trying to tone some of this leftover muscle as much as I can without heavy lifting due to my ongoing back situation.  Went for another MRI a few hrs ago, and this one will determine any changes and if we go forward with the back surgery.

Kudos to you for standing in for Tess!  On the garden front, why don't you try growing those huge watermelons that your grandfather used to grow and bring up here to Norfolk?  I'd have lots of customers for you, and I'd be first in line!

Hello!  I like to check in when I have a chance.  It is really inspiring to see others do so well.  So far I have lost 8 pounds since the beginning of the year.  It's coming off slowly.  This is the longest I have stayed with a "diet" in a long time.  I was getting frustrated because the weight loss was stalled for 3 weeks, I actually INCREASED my intake and started loosing again, it's crazy!

I am near Buffalo, NY and it is cold here!  I look out my window and see my two raised beds and can't wait to plant my garden.  I grow; tomatoes, zuchinni, asparagus, garlic, peas, beans, strawberries, cucumbers and lots of herbs.  Last year I planted, bell peppers, broccoli and cauliflour, but they didn't do so well.  I make the mistake of over crowding my plants, so we made a second bed last fall.  Hopefully we will have a productive year.  It's just a fun thing to do with my kids.  They eat beans and cherry tomatoes right of the vine!

Breakfast: Coffee X3 with half and half.  Later on: 2% plain Greek yogurt, fruit spread and a few chopped up raw cashews.

Snack: I found this Oscar Meyer Protein Pack at Target, it had a little roasted turkey, few cubes of cheese and some peanuts

Lunch: 3 slices of rolled up turkey breast with swiss cheese, spicy brown mustard for dipping and red bell pepper strips.

Snack: Fiber one bar

Dinner: I am not sure yet.  I have to take my daughters (2.5 and 5 years old) for hair cuts tonight.  We may go for dinner after.

I took 1 iron today, I have had plenty of water and herbal tea, I need to take my multi when I get home and another iron before bed.  It's a pain in the butt spacing out the vitamins.  I struggle with that.
