Good Morning Botters, Happy February 3rd!
Congratulations to all of you Seahawk fans, they had an awesome game! Of course, I am a Peyton Manning fan so our game was not up to pare but that how the cookie crumbled last night. Did anyone really like many of the Super Bowl commercials. I think I might have liked 3 out of all of the ones they showed. Some I did not even get....We have a blast with our party though and the snacks were out of this world. I did partake of many and I will be detoxing the rest of the week but I enjoyed my eats last night. My meals for today are:
Breakfast: Coffee & Miralax
Snack: Fiber One Bar
Lunch: Quest Protein Bar
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Lean Pocket
Snack: Vitatop
Exercise: Bike
I forgot to mention that the weather here Saturday was a gorgeous 62 degrees and this morning we are back in the deep freeze at 22 degrees. I hope you all have a great start to this first week in February. Please remember to take your vitamins and drink lots of fluids.
We had a "Souper" Bowl party at my Mom's yesterday in place of our normal Sunday dinner. Everyone brought a pot of soup and some Mason jars to divide up the leftovers. She made a huge salad and we had one of the best Sunday dinners in a long, long time. No one wanted to leave. I looked around at one point and I think all of the men were asleep either in recliners or on the couch. That gave us time to get my step-father's 90th birthday party planned for later this month.
I've got to say that I was disappointed in the super bowl and the commercials. I ended up rearranging the pantry and going to bed early. Such is life.
I finally remembered to get a new battery for my scales. With the super bowl snacks and the recent snow storms, I was half way afraid of stepping on them this morning. I am ecstatic to report that they hadn't moved. 3 weeks of maintaining might not seem like a victory to some but to me and the recent events it's a huge victory. I've been trying to eat very healthy, "clean" & balanced. I need to up my water intake. I go way to heavy on coffee on the weekends and during the snow storms. All in all I'll take the non-movement.
Today's plan looks like this:
commute: Coffee
Breakfast: Egg & Salsa burrito
snack: string cheese & almonds
lunch: Ham on rye w/ an apple
snack: Greek Yogurt
Dinner: Pork Roast & steamed veggies
Getting a walk in at lunch time. It's already 62 degrees here this morning. Rain is supposed to be setting in later this afternoon for the rest of the week so I need to get me some sunshine in while it's possible. The vitamins are in for the morning and now to remember my iron at bedtime.
Yall have a great day!!!

Our weather on Saturday and Sunday was great. Sunday was beautiful 67... recorded on my car.. And sunny. I just wore a shirt over my tank top.
I made my BF stay with me to watch the half time.. but I wish we skipped that and had more time to play with each other... (he he he - great exercise)
Overall - It was a good weekend. Even my scale was supper kind to me and on Sunday it showed my weight before the holidays and being sick regain. I am back to my 160's...
On top of that, on Friday, - I got results from my bone density scan and they are perfect.. Really good for 53 year old woman almost 6 years post op RNY. I guess I am doing something right.
Today is another day and I am determine to keep it clean:
coffee x2 + miralax
tea
1 oz of polish (the real stuff) sausage.
Green tea x 3....
L: chicken with green beans, + cucumber (if needed)
s: SF jello with blackberries,
D: turkey breast or pork loin with veggies ... (depends how late I have the dinner)
LNS: some proteins.. followed with warm water with Apple cider vinegar.
I noticed that lately my dinner just stays there - and doesn't want to move along - making me burp more that I think I should... Either I have worms - parasites, or my body has hard time with dense proteins.. So instead of wine that I used to have with dinner, now I take 1 oz of Apple cider vinegar (Bragga organic) and 30-60 min after the dinner I drink that to help my body digest and move along the meats.

Well, I didn't care much for the Super Bowl, but Downton Abbey was GREAT! LOL I did go to a Super Bowl Party last night and it was just a bunch of munchie food, who doesn't love apps! I may have over done it a bit. I feel bloated and yucky today. I worked out like a crazy person yesterday and I am a bit sore today. I have been blessed with non bat wing arms and I am really trying to have nice looking arms this summer. My thighs...different story!
Breakfast-coffeeX2 with half and half. Later on: oatmeal (steal cut) made with almond milk, hemp seeds, cinnamon and 2 Tbs slivered almonds. There was a lot of protein in it, but it's only 11 AM here and I am hungry!
Snack-I didn't plan anything-I do have a shake here I might have.
Lunch-salad with grilled chicken
Dinner-didn't plan anything ugh! I have meat lasagna in the freezer I may nuke.
Exercise-Yoga class tonigh, if my sore arms can hold me! Vitamins done, water is going well too, hoping to get rid of bloat.

Happy Monday!
That was a dissapointing Super Bowl I think, but just my opinion. I did well on my eating for the most part, although I indulged in a few ****tails....
Today I am planning:
B: 1-Taco/Egg Cup ( I pre made some of these last night. It is a couple of wontons in a muffin tin with a little bit of taco meat, diced red pepper and eggs.) Taco meat not the healthiest, but it was a good quick grab and better than a drive through today. Next time using chicken breast or turkey instead of beef. I just used left over meat from some super bowl apps. I like the cups - the help me manage my portions
S: Green Tea with honey
L: Unstuffed Pepper Skillet meal - Same as my unstuffed cabbage rolls, had to try it!
Snack: Sugar Free Jello
Dinner - Pulled Chicken breast (no bread) with a little bit of BBQ Sauce with some grilled asparagus.
Vitamins are in for the day, and getting lots of water in! Have to work in some exercise. Ive been terrible about this. My goal this week is to really start managing my portions. Preplanning my meals for the week is helping. Having everything packed in my little to-go containers helps a ton.
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
Melissa:
I love using the wonton wrappers as muffin cups. I have a recipe for you. I make the lasagna cups with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese and mozzarella cheese. I double layer with wonton, sauce, ricotta, wonton, sauce, ricotta, sauce, mozzarella. I only use about 1 teaspoon of sauce each time and about 1/2 tablespoon of the ricotta and sprinkle with mozzarella. I bake these in a muffin tin for about 20 minutes on 350 degrees. They are yummy and a real good protein choice substitute for the real thing.
