Good evening, BOTT friends,

I haven't posted in several days...lots of new names and faces!  Great to see.  I've finally gotten my sense of taste back after several weeks.  I'm very happy about that.  I'm still lurking from time to time, but spending a lot of time researching posts on MFP and trying to fine tune my workouts.  I would like to do strength training, but the back (and MD)  won't allow it, so I'm basically a bag of extra skin and bones now :)

The regain is gone, and I'm 2 lbs from my second goal of 160 lbs.  That will be a total of 184 lbs lost since my surgery almost 14yrs ago.  I'm so happy to be at this weight, but I soooo wish I could have plastics done.  Still playing lotto, so there's always a chance, huh?

I'm still eating as I set out to do when I joined BOTT last year...low carb, no refined sugar, no white foods (pasta, rice, potatoes, white bread), just meats, vegetables, a few fruits and sometimes a Vitatop or protein bar or shake for a sweet treat.  Still eating my turkey bacon and a whole wheat sandwich thin with my burgers.  I'm on my bike 6 days a week (it was suggested I give myself a rest day or two to repair and build some muscle).  Wednesday's menu was like this:

B:  1 c All Bran, 1 c almond milk (30 cal), 1/2 oz chopped almonds, 2 tbsps SF pumpkin pie spice coffee creamer

L:  1 c homemade veg bean soup, 4 strips low sodium turkey bacon, Fuji apple slices

D:  2 c homemade chicken vegetable stir-fry (no rice or pasta)

LNS:  1/3 c pistachios (measured in shell), Fiber One 90 cal bar

I bought a HRM (heart rate monitor) to get a better estimate of my calorie burn than relying on MFP and their overestimates, but there's much more to the science than what your actual burn is according to your heart rate, but it is better than the "estimates" on MFP and other sites.

Otherwise, I'm just enjoying the winter (finally got some measurable snow yesterday) and it's bone chilling cold here, but that's what I've been hoping for.  I'm a winter baby!

Welcome to all the new members, and I hope you all reach your goals in your time and in your own way.  It takes time, but you've come to the right place.  I couldn't have done it without BOTT, and I am grateful to all who welcomed me last February and shared their experiences.  Goodnight to all :)

You are awesome and have done a fantastic job reclaiming your weight loss!  I know you feel wonderful because I remember and still have that wonderful feeling of success.  I hope you can figure out someway to get the plastics that you want.  I did not know how fully I would enjoy my body until I had the Lower body lift done.  I feel amazing.  I am hoping that I will be able to have my arms done this year if possible and that will complete me as I do not want to have my thighs done.  The thighs are not great but I don't wear shorts or bikinis but I do like to wear sleeveless tops and the batwings need to fly away.  Stay inside today and keep warm.  Again, congratulations on all you hard work through your pain.

Thanks so much, Tess!  You are a great role model, and sharing your story of your losing your regain has helped me (and others) tremendously.  It has kept me on the straight and narrow, and helped me to see that yes, it could be done and now I've done it.  Now I will commit to maintaining it, and you have also shown that maintaining is a reachable goal.

I can only imagine how it must feel to be rid of the excess skin.  I need arms, thighs, belly and breasts done, but I must say you'd never know it (with my clothes on and "not sleeveless or in shorts").  But take off the clothes and lol!  Hopefully, you will reach your plastics goal and have your arms done this year.  I'm hoping for the same...as soon as I get that right combination of lotto numbers :)  Have a great day, Tess!

Hey Gang!! I was able to read all the posts yesterday but my laptop didn't want to cooperate for replies or postings. I guess it decided to take a snow day as well. We got between 2 and 3 inches of beautiful powdery snow. Work and school was canceled so I was able to enjoy it from the comfort of my PJs. I had so much fun watching the kids. Our steps were so covered in ice that I didn't venture down them. A slip on the ice and snow would be the final straw as far as my knees were concerned.

Early morning: Coffee...Coffee...Coffee

Brunch:   Homemade Pimento Cheese on whole wheat & 1/2 ruby red grapefruit

Early Bird Dinner:  15 Bean chili using ground chicken   (OMG!!!!!!!!!!)

Late Night:   Popcorn (Light Butter - mini bag)

Lots of hot tea and iced decaf throughout the day. Completely forgot to take my vitamins.

There's a product called "Hambeens" 15 bean soup.  It's 15 kinds of dried beans and lentils, all in one bag with a packet of ham flavoring to add at the end.  lots of recipes online and a couple on the bag.  I use it for soup sometimes.
