Hello BOTT friends,
Trying to get back on track, and stay there, however because I am consuming less food during this wl faze I am trying to create! lol. I am having issues, not every nite now, but before too often.
I wake up hungry, and wanting something to eat? food or sweet does not matter, last night it was a bologna sandwich, ;-( but the hunger pains made me feel like I was starving literally, and I couldn't sleep of course, because I needed something to eat, or wanted, had to have something?!
So what are some suggestions to help get me out of this bad pattern? drink water? eat crackers?? I don't think that will curve it? and then going to have to wake up to go to the bathroom too many times during the night which I kind of do already, with my increased fluids again anyway. Help?
Jbug. I am also going to post this on the main board too, so I can get as much feedback as possible, but I need your advice and suggestions too.

Have you tried having a snack before you go to bed? I know some times that helps. Hala may have a suggestion or two about what would be your healthiest options. I know when you're trying to keep bloodsugars regulated that's normally suggested.  It's worth a try.

It sounds like low BS - I had that so many times, until I found out what works for me.

1. I try not to eat any starches or sugars (i.e. fruits) at least 2 hours before bed.

2. I always have LNS- even what I am not hungry.  typically it is 1-1.5 oz of nuts or nut butter.  In the past I may also had (instead of nuts) full fat cheese with some non starchy veggies., but found out that the nuts works the best.  I eat them literally just before the bed.

I also keep nuts or nut butter on my nightstand.   If I wake up hungry - and "starving" I know my BS dropped and I would eat 1 -2 tsp of nut butter. (natural - no sugar added) .

Company name: Jason": makes individually packed PB and almond butter...

BTW: I choose to eat nuts (almonds, peanuts or other nuts ) because they do sit on my intestine or pouch and do not ferment - I don't get sour  taste in my mouth in the morning.

There are bars and snacks : Extend - that have slow digesting carbs - recommended for peopel with RH or hypoglycemia, but they give me really bad gas, so I don't use them. The crisps and drizzles are very tasty... You cna find tehm online or in some stores - like Walgreens, CVS- in the diabetic food section..

I eat a Vitatop muffin top around 8:00 to 8:30 PM every night.  I can not go to bed hungry or I will not sleep!  I usually am in bed by 10:00 PM.  I also have a Calcet Calicum chew as my last vitamin of the day and it is a little treat that helps keep my tummy happy.  They come in Fudge and Lemon Cream.  I buy both from Diet Direct.
