Back On Track Together
Monday, January 6th, Cardio & Cafe
Erin, I understand the cookie issue. I have been dealing with my own demons this weekend and I finally sent the tin off to my husband's work. Those cookies just kept multiplying every time I opened the can. I am not really a cookie fan but for some reason could not keep my hands out of the box. I am glad to say that they have left the building.
My plan today:
brkfst- power bar
lunch-chicken strips
snack-not sure
dinner-chicken quesadilla soup
snack-cheese stick
Gotta go to work to do a module because I have training tomorrow. Otherwise, applying for RN positions in Dallas/Fort Worth area because soon I am moving back home!!!!!!!!!
Good morning BOTTs.
Ahhhhhh....Monday. Here she is again. The weekend was really nice and my hometown pro football team, local state university, and my favorite pro hockey team all won so sports was exciting.
It's about 75 degrees outside today but it's supposed to drop to about 65 degrees by Thursday. Kudos to you all for braving the cold! When it gets that cold, does it always involve snow? It sounds exciting, on this end, to hear about it because I love bundling up and getting cozy, but I imagine it can be really trying after too long. I wish you all warmth!
Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs
Snack: greek yogurt
Lunch: protein shake
Snack: SF hot chocolate & string cheese
Dinner: tilapia and green beans
Walking during lunch break today.
Picking up my husband at the airport tonight. The house has sure been quiet and easy to keep clean the past 3 weeks!
Have a nice afternoon/evening.
Gaby
Gaby: If I could box you up a little cooler weather and trade you for a little bit of warmer weather, I think we would both be happy. I dug out my leggings this morning to wear under my corduroys and have three layers of tops on too. To go out, I added a full knee length coat, gloves, boots and scarf. Yeah, I feel like to kid from A Christmas Story, I can't move my arms.....
Angela, In SC - we can have cold (1-10F now) and as long s we don't have moisture - we don't get snow, Problem with moisture and cold and the south - is that this thing will slightly melt during the day and refreeze at night causing really dangerous conditions.. including "blac****" - ice you can't see on the road but once the car hits it - you start spinning. Also - since people here only get snow or freezing rain once in a while once a year- most do not know how to drive in the condition so you have people absolutely terrified driving at 5-10 mph and others try to go 60-70, people would tailgate you... and so on ... total mess

Hello, BOTT friends, and welcome back Angela! It's been several days since I posted, but I'm still here as always. Had the radioactive iodine treatment and it's still giving me the business. My salivary glands were affected, and I have almost no sense of taste. I can't taste salty nor sour things, and that's a real bummer because I'm a savory foods person. Sweet things I can taste a little, like SF coffee creamer, but everything tastes like it's given with a dose of metal shavings!
That was helpful during the holidays because I had no appetite and everything tasted (and still tastes) bad, so I didn't gain anything. I'm back on my meds, and cycling away on my recumbent bike every day. I'm down 2 more lbs to 165, and my second goal of 160 (losing my 71 lb regain was my first goal) should be reached before my 1yr BOTT anniversary in Feb. Hallelujah!!
Otherwise, I'm just trying to feel better and get my metabolism up again. I have several doc visits and labs over the next few days, as well as finding out the results of my RI treatment. I'm praying I won't need another dose.
As far as food, I'm still doing my usual...turkey bacon, chicken, lean beef, lots of vegs, dry beans, olive oil, cheese, and an occasional protein shake or Vitatop. I've lost a lot of lean body mass due to the fact that I'm not allowed to lift, but I'm doing my best to keep my spine stable until I can have it surgically corrected.
That's it for my update. Stay warm, everyone, and above all, stay BOTT. It works!!!
Hi Shelia: Sorry that your taste buds are out of wrack. It is bad enough when our food is limited but not to get the true taste is the pits. I hope you get that sense back real soon. Keep up with the extra protein to help build your muscle mass back up too. Congratulations on the 165 lbs. You have had an awesome year in the weight department!
