Back On Track Together
need support!!
So i originally had lap band 1/2009. revised to bypass 10/2010. I started out 272 and the lowest i got to was 149. I have been trying to find a medicine that will help me with me being stressed. for about 2 years i had been on a medicine called buspar but i never slept at nite
recently i changed medicines and it has made me have the attitude "i dont care" and i have gained 10 pounds with no change in diet. so today was a kick in the butt. i am now up to 175 and have no idea how to even start to try to lose again. i am 3 years out. i am hungry quiet a bit and know i don't drink enough water.
so any suggestions on kick starting the weight loss??
Tamara
Hi there. My first thought is start drinking...water that is. Go back to what you know works. For me, having a plan is crucial. Easier said than done here at the holidays but I know if I didn't have a daily plan that things would be much worse. For the next couple of weeks, I'm trying to take it one day at a time.
Talk to your doc about your meds. I'm fairly "stable" with my daily lexapro but in trying to come off the hormone replacement therapy she's added an emergency script for Xanax. Most of the time I don't need to take it, it's enough knowing I have it available. I call it my "Pacifier". Wouldn't it be great if we could just rid ourselves of the stress? Wishful thinking.
Come here daily and be as involved as you possibly can. Just lurking through the posts may give you some inspiration and insight. 2014 is the year we all get back on track and headed in the right direction.

Hi Tamara:
I have been on Lexapro for about 3 years now and have had no side effects from it. I take it for anxiety and stress. You might want to ask your doctor about it. As for getting the weight back off, you just need to go back to basics, decarb your body off slider foods, mostly carbs. It will be tough for about 3 days but then your body will feel better and be more receptive to cleaner eating. Cut your calories back to 800-1000 and up your proteins to 80-100 grams to jump start your weight loss. As you begin to lose, you will want to continue on the path to get back where you want to be. Don't drink with meals or 30 minutes after meals. Journal your food daily and find some type of exercise you like to do for 30 minutes a day. You can dance for 30 minutes if that what you like to do. As for carbs, keep them at a net 50 grams or below, get rid of all the white carbs, sugar, sweets, pasta, bread, potatoes, etc. This will work as long as you work with it. Good luck to you. We post daily our eats so check in and see what others are eating and post your own if you would like.
SSRI''S which is what lexapro is can make some people gain. i have been to the dr and in 4 weeks gained 10 pounds. scary. so med change again for the 3rd time. i was on one but was tired of not sleeping. Celexa helps me to sleep but i am dead tired from it.
thanks for he suggestions. i am really going to try the 1000 calories . good on protien, have to work on carbs.
