Back On Track Together
New to Room
I have been reading the Five Day Pouch Test. I am surprised with how many things I did not have right after my WLS in 2010. I miss understood about how long to eat a meal. I was trying to make a meal last 30 minutes. Another thing I had wrong was I knew about the 30 minutes and no liquids before meals but then I though you could not drink for up to 90 minutes after a meal. I did not under stand that the 90 minutes and no liquid was for the whole meal process. It was so hard to do what I was doing, which was wrong. The other thing I was wrong about, after drinking a protein shake not to drink for the 60 minutes. No wonder this seemed so undo able for me. I can remember going out looking for yogurt with no sugar. I was driving myself crazy and I got so frustrated that I did not to stick to the WLS eating.
I work the over nights so I have to learn to work my exercising in and enough sleep.
Welcome aboard. You'll see a wide variety of folks and techniques here but most of all you'll find support. Some of the others have a much better track record for losing the regains and maintaining. I'm just happy that I've managed to stop the regain. Now to start taking it off....that's going to only happen with proper diet and exercise.
Be as involved as your schedule will alow...at the very least come lurk through the posts. You'll find us a very welcoming bunch.
Good Luck.

Hi Sue. Glad that you found us. It seems that every doctor has his/her on approach on what you should/shouldn't eat and when after surgery. I did not understand a lot in the beginning either but after finding OH I learned a lot. Did it keep me from regaining? No, stress put a number on me for that but after the stress left, I did put in to play what I learned and lost the regain. You can too! Just check us out daily and post or lurk, it is what we are here for.
