Absolutely! Whether it is protein shakes, protein bars or a breast of chicken, fish or steak. I always eat my protein first. When I go out to eat, I have them hold my salad and bring it with my steak. After seven years, my husband and I still split a 10 oz. steak. I have a salad and he has a salad and baked potato. This is no story, we both have steak left over to eat with breakfast the next morning. By eating your protein first, your pouch will really be working to digest this food and you will have less hunger to deal with. Carbs or just sliders and will quickly empty into your intestines and soon you will be looking for more carbs to "rush" through trying to get that full feeling again. It is a vicious cycle then.
I don't come here often but decided to read tonight. Some struggles going on right now with the holiday season so I want to catch and make changes before the weight gain.
I do dense protein first always. I rarely do a shake or protein bar. I should make it a habit to drink a shake or two per day, I really do feel better when I drink them.
