HELP
Hi Sherry. Going back to the basics of your surgery is a start...protein first, limited carbs and fats, lots of water, no drinking with meals or immediately pre or post meals (my docs rules were no drinking 30 mins before and 30-60 mins after meals, as well as no drinking with meals). If you start there, you should be able to get a handle on the problem. I started with the 5day pouch test (5DPT) and continued from there, employing the basics of my RNY surgery 13.5 yrs ago. I eat lower fat, low carb, no simple or refined carbs (sugar), high protein and lots of exercising by riding my recumbent bike almost daily. I also try to drink at least 64 ozs water daily, but that has been a problem and I'm working on it. I had a regain of 71 lbs, and since starting in Feb of this year, I've lost 67 of those regained lbs. It's not easy, but it CAN BE DONE.
This site has helped tremendously. If you follow the daily Cardio & Cafe (C&C) you'll find that most of us try to log in often, and we post our daily planned menus. You will get lots of insight by reading former posts, and encouragement is always there. Try it, and I hope you find the help you're looking for. Good luck!
Sherry you can do this. It want come off in a hurry but if you give yourself 8-12 months you will get that 70 lbs. back off. It took me 8 months to get that exact amount off. Shelia gave you the basic rules we all use. I even started losing my regain by going back to the main board and seeing what all the newbies we eating to remember how I lost weight in the first place. Keep your calories around 800 and your protein around 70-100 grams and you too will lose. Good luck to you.
