Good Morning Botts:

I hope everybody had a great weekend and did well on their eating plans too!  Let's remember all of our veterans today and tell them thank you for all you have done for America.  My eats for today are:

Breakfast:  Coffee & Miralax

2nd Breakfast:  Oatmeal

Snack:  Banana

Lunch:  Quest Protein Bar

Snack:  Fiber One Bar

Dinner:  Lean Pocket Chicken BBQ

Snack:  1/2 Granola Bar

Exercise:  Bike

Remember your vits and fluids today and start the week off running.  Have a good one!

Good morning, BOTT friends, and may I give a big THANK YOU to all our veterans and servicemen/women (my son too!) for all they have done and still do to maintain our freedom.  God Bless them ALL!

 

Well, I came through my thyroidectomy with flying colors, and returned home on Saturday.  The surgery was more extensive than my MD thought it would be, due to lots of scar tissue from my previous "partial thyroidectomy" 27 yrs ago, and they were in there a long time.  The cancer had started to wrap around my trachea also, but they think they got it all, and so far, the lymph nodes examined were free of cancer.  But the definitive results are due later this week, so prayers are being sent up for a complete cure.  I feel like I've been punched in the throat and upper chest by Mohammed Ali, and swallowing even liquids feels like I'm trying to down an ostrich egg, but I'm happy to be home and feeling more like myself every day.  I've been doing too much (and my daughters are constantly harassing me about it) and even rode my recumbent bike for 62 mins, covering 9 whole miles while watching "The Walking Dead" last night with my 17yr old granddaughter.  That's a Sunday night staple for us, and as I was sitting on the bike watching the show, I figured I might as well move my legs a bit :)

I've stayed on my plan except for a few saltines and graham crackers taken with my liquid Lortab post-op.  I figured that was no time to worry about carbs, lol!

Anyway, I'm feeling better and back to reading and posting.  Hope all is well with everyone, and wishing you all a great day!

Good to see you back!  So glad that the surgery is over for you and hopefully everything will be A-okay for you.  I think you can forgive yourself the saltines and graham crackers, I ate a 1 inch square of cheesecake this weekend and I am not going to apologize for it unless it shows up on the scale.kiss  Have a great day!

Thanks, Tess...I'm glad it's done too, and very optimistic about my recovery.  You're right about forgiving the crackers, and forgiving yourself for the cheesecake.  Neither is going to show up on the scale, and I'm learning to not be as rigid, but still cautious of my choices.

Today has been a bit unusual for me.  I am the Student Council sponsor at the school and my students are the host/hostesses for the Veteran's Day program.  We got here this morning at 7:00 and I have been back in my classroom about an hour.  It is 1:30 now. We feed our Vets breakfast and then the elementary students put on a program of patriotic songs, we recognize every veteran that is here and then I get to take my students out to lunch after they put up all the tables and chairs and clean up the gym where the program is held.  I have been " out to eat" twice already today !!!  I am very proud of my new week resolution ...... I ate scrambled eggs and bacon with one biscuit for breakfast.  They served.....eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, and fruit.  I did well.  Then we ate where I knew the owners and I had a ham and cheese roll-up and some fruit.  I pray this determination sticks around for awhile ! 

My eats for the rest of the day......snack........apple

                                                      Dinner.......I have a pork roast in crock pot and I roasted a bunch of fresh veggies yesterday !

You are doing really good.  You are like me though, we both got the biscuits when we should have gotten the fruit....maybe next time.

Good afternoon! It was a crazy weekend but we made it! LoL. 

My eats:

b: potatoes, eggs and bacon scramble and coffee

l: salad

s: need to make a shake! And LOTS of water!

d: we are taking my husband out to dinner to thank you for serving our country for 10 years. Not sure where yet

Already took my Multi and vit d about to got take my iron. Hope you guys have a great rest of the day
