Happy Hump Day Botts:
It is a beautiful morning here today but we have storms and a cold front coming in this afternoon. Temps are going to be cooler the rest of the week. I did not get to walk last night as I ended up working late. Bummer! But today looks promising if the rains don't get here until after 5:00 PM. My eats for today are:
Breakfast: Coffee & Miralax
2nd Breakfast: Oatmeal
Snack: Fiber One Bar
Lunch: Quest Protein Bar
Snack: 1/2 Granola Thin
Dinner: BBQ Chicken Lean Pocket
Snack: Vitatop
Exercise: Walking
I hope everybody has a fun day, it is the middle of the week and the weekend will be here soon. Don't forget those vits and fluids.
Good morning BOTTs. Happy Hump Day!
We are having really nice weather here, too, today. I love when there's a nip in the air and the sun is peaking through the morning clouds. Today would be a great day to walk but I have too many errands to do during my lunch break today. At least I will be out of the office for a little while!
Breakfast: granola bar and greek yogurt
Snack: protein shake
Lunch: small chili from Wendy's
Snack: 15 almonds
Dinner: sushi (no rice!) and garlic edamame (taking a friend out for a birthday celebration)
Snack: 3 oz. s/f frozen yogurt
Maybe I will attempt to "plank" in my office today at some point!!! It's supposed to be great for building core strength. hahaha...as long as I know no one is looking!
Have a great day, friends.
Gaby
I'm afraid if I tried planking in my office that someone would call 9-1-1. Then again we have done wall push ups in here without any mishaps. You never know what can happen here.
I had some things to get done over my lunch break and ended up missing out on my walk too. There's always something to be done at home that can count toward exercise. I could clean up the little kiddo's room but I'm afraid my blood pressure could stand being elevated for that long.....she came out last weekend with what resembled a petrified banana peeling -wanting to know who ate a banana in her room? Well DUH!!!! No one is supposed to have food in their bedrooms for that very reason. I can only imagine what I could find. I've delegated that cleaning/supervising duty to her Daddy.
Today's plan is :
breakfast: Chocolate protein shake
commute: coffee
snack: Mutligrain cheerios (dry)
Lunch: Chowder
snack: 3 bites of coconut pie (not as good as my moma's so I tossed it)
snack #2: cajun spiced almonds (Holy Mother---they'll make you drink)
Dinner: Pork Chops & Green bean casserole
Hope everyone has a great day (or what's left of it). I dread driving home in the dark.

Good evening, BOTT friends,
Haven't posted in a couple days, but I have been keeping up wit what's going on. I'm busy preparing for my thyroidectomy on Friday, and found out I will have to have back surgery sometime in December, after I've healed from this one. Looks like I'll be spending the rest of the year recuperating from this or that. No problem though...just hope I can continue my recumbent bike workouts asap. Shouldn't be a problem after the thyroid surgery, but the back is another matter.
Speaking of te bike, I didn't get a workout in today (too much discomfort) but I did get in 16 miles between Mon and Tues. Guess I should give it a rest more often :) I've stayed true to my eating plan. I plan to spend a lot of time drinking fluids on Thursday since I won't be allowed to eat or drink after midnight Thursday night, and my surgery isn't until 1pm Friday afternoon. That's a lonnnggg time for me not to have any fluids at all. I don't mind not having food, but I hate going withou****er for so long.
It's late, so here are my eats for today:
B: 1 c All Bran, 1 c almond milk, 3 tbsps SF pumpkin pie spice creamer, 10 natural almonds
S: 1 oz pistachios
L: grilled chicken breast (skinless), 2 c mixed green salad with 1/4 c LF feta, 2 tbsps light ranch dressing
S: Iced coffee with splenda, 4 tbsps SF creamer
D: 5 oz lean beef burger on sandwich thin, 1 slice RF cheddar, mustard, 1 tbsp each ketchup, relish
Goodnight friends :)
Believe me, I did check Tess. The reason is that they want absolutely zero chance of aspiration (as with any surgery) but they're working on the delicate throat area around lots of nerves that control reflexes, voice, etc. He did say I could take my Synthroid with a "very small sip of water" at 6 a.m. BUMMER = (
