Good morning BOTTs.

First of all, I really want to thank each one of you for the support yesterday.  Last night when my "eating machine twin" tried to take over, I had several coping mechanisms to go to.  I put a "STOP" sign on my fridge, looked (several times) at a picture taken of me when I felt really good about myself, stopped at the grocery store and bought celery, baby carrots, greek yogurt, hummus, small carb-balance whole wheat tortillas, and SF jello cups and involved myself in more conversation with my daughter and her friends.  I also realized that I have been eating waaaay too much fruit, blindly thinking that "it's just fruit" so it can't hurt.  A friend gave me several bags of persimmons from her bountiful producing persimmon tree and as they were ripening, I was eating them.  I didn't want that wonderful fruit to go to waste!  I was eating at least 5 of them each night.  Soooooo...lastnight, I divided them up into several plastic ziplock bags and threw them into the freezer.  Having them out on the counter was just too tempting for me, so out of sight, out of mind.  Plus, this way, they will last for several months and be good as an occasional treat.  Yesterday was a huge eye opener for me.  The most "damage" I did last night was with 3 stalks of celery and about 1 1/2 tablespoons of peanut butter.

Breakfast:  protein shake

Snack:  baby carrots and 10 almonds

Lunch:  1/2 chicken breast and pickles

Snack: greek yogurt

Dinner:  broiled salmon and broccoli

Snack:  celery & peanut butter

Have a great day BOTTs.  We can see the weekend from here!  (I'd better stock up on more celery!)

I don't have a fitbit but I do use several apps on my iphone.  One is map my walk and the other is pacer.  They keep track of all my steps and calorie burn too!

oooooh!!!  I will have to try an app on my iphone.  I am really curious about how many steps I have been taking a day, especially since I started back with my walking.

I have a Fitbit Zip. It's linked to myfitnesspal. I wear it from the time I get up until I go to bed. Some exercises, like walking, get double counted as far as calorie burn on MFP but I'm okay with that since I ignore the increased calories MFP allows. I just want to know the steps I've made with the goal being 10,000.
