Back On Track Together

I focused on protein today in preparation for surgery Thursday. Couldn't exercise because I have a tremendously stiff and painful neck and back. My three year old had a bad bout with asthma and the steroids mean she doesn't sleep much or well. the stiff neck is from sleeping on the living room floor and eventually or bed with her for the last few nights. She can be a teeth grinding thrashing bed hog and we become contortionists when she sleeps with us. My dear husband is with her now, I'm in bed with the heating bed and pain meds.
Typing on my little iPhone has it's drawbacks. I'm thinking of getting an iPad mini or a Kindle before surgery. Does anyone have either and what do you like or dislike about it?
As Tess would say, don't forget those vits and fluids! Sleep well, BOTTS!

I remember sleeping like that. My oldest son just about bruise every part of your body. My youngest was always cold so if he woke up during the night he had a way of creeping into bed to try and absorb everyone's body heat. The good side was you never even knew he was there. (He was like a cat!!)
My stepson has the mini ipad and loves it. My oldest son and his girlfriend both have Kindles and I don't think you could pay them enough for them to part with them. I do know hers is newer (kindle fire HD) and it's awesome. I've got a Nook and it's perfect for me.
Hope your pain subsides.

Iris...I have 3 "cats" in my family. My dear departed husband, my daughter and my son, ALL walk very softly. They have scared the living daylights out of me many, many times over the years, and it got so bad that my daughter and son will now cough a bit, or make a little noise when they come in my house (they know I live in my bedroom) so I won't get startled when they come upstairs.
My husband is remembered by his "uh-hmph, hmph" as he walked upstairs. Makes me smile :)
My condolences on your family's loss, Jennifer. The gravesite rites for veterans are so stirring. If you're not moved to tears by the death, or the funeral service, then you have to be made of stone not to be moved by the military rites. My brother received those honors too, and it was a very bittersweet experience.
I'm sorry you're going through so much pain, and right before your surgery. I wish you well, and send healing prayers for you and the little one :)
Hi Jennifer: I too wish to express my condolences to you and your husband on your loss. My hubby and kids got me a kindle Fire when I had my first surgery so that it would be easy to keep in communication with everyone and not be heavy on my stomach like my laptop. I love it. I probably have 30 books and several movies in my library on it. I don't travel without it. It is so much nicer to type on than the iphone too.
