Back On Track Together

Sunday Funday

I really don't have anything fun planned today. In fact it's quite the opposite. I get to sort through a shed full of totes and things that have been in storage since my Daddy died in 2004. There's not a day that goes by that I don't miss him dearly -- I can imagine that today will be full of tears, stories and a few laughs. Daddy died before I met David so what he (David) knows about him is through the stories but this past week while we've been going through stuff he's gained a new appreciation for him. My Daddy was a pack rat and unfortunately I inherited that gene ---plus a couple more.

Eats today are going to be simple:

Wake up ----Coffee (a pot not a cup)

Breakfast:    Scrambled eggs & whole wheat toast

Lunch:         Tuna salad wraps

snack:         Fruit & Cheese sticks

dinner:        Roast, sweet potato and mixed greens (Turnip & kale)

Don't forget those vitamins and fluids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iris,

Sorry to hear this was a tough day. Unfortunately losing people is part of life. We just have to keep moving forward and remember the good times. Kind of an understatement, no? I was able to get out for fun today by going to the local Renaissance Faire. Did pretty good there but the kettle corn called to me, lol.

B- Egg & Chicken Sausage

S- Rice Cake & Low fat cheese

S-Kettle Corn

L/D- Cobb salad with turkey as main feature and ouch some chips!!!

Probably a little low on protein so I will eat something else tonight. I just want feeling it through the day today. Probably a reflection of the popcorn. On the up side I did get a nice bike ride in today for about 50 minutes.

Iris...I can certainly understand what you went through today.  I said right here a few weeks ago that I was going to clean my closet and donate all of the items belonging to my departed husband, but it's still here and I haven't budged an inch to start the job.  He also passed in 2004, and I have moved on, but not completely.  I know it will bring old memories flooding back, but there are many good ones, and I promised myself I'll get to it soon.

This weekend started off with lots of back pain, and I spent most of Friday in bed.  I was able to get out last night for a visit to a fishing pier (for the air and just to watch).  Not much biting last night (visited 3 fishing piers), but the night air did a world of good.  I was hurting at every stop, but using the heated seats in the car made it easier.  Man, I wish I could grab a rod and reel and go for the big one!

I didn't do my bike workout last night, but got one in today for 35 minutes, covering 5 miles.  Today I ate:

B:  coffee with Splenda and 2.5 tbsps SF creamer, 1/4 c pistachios (measured in shell)

L:  3 ozs grilled sirloin strips, 1 c cooked collards

S:  Iced coffee with 5 tbsps SF creamer

D:  1 1/2 c tuna salad, sandwich thin, 1 slice RF cheddar

Hope everyone had a great weekend!  Goodnight friends :)

Thanks for the thoughts guys. It ended up being a really good day. I got lots accomplished and during the course of the day found a couple of muscle groups that I didn't know I had. Lots of bending, lifting, toting and heavy labor in general. I'm such a princess. I'd say I'm probably 1/2 way through the project.

The very first item that I uncovered yesterday was a Brass bell that was my Grandmother's. She called it an elephant bell. It's absolutely gorgeous and has a wonderful tone to it when it rings. Needless to say it brought out a bunch of stories about my childhood. Next thing I know, david is putting it in the car to take home. He stashed more things to bring home than I did. I think we're both pack rats.

Iris, it sounds like you went through a lot of memories.  Sometimes a walk back through time is just what the doctor ordered.  I think it helps us to appreciate our roots and where we come from.  Have a great day!
