Good Morning Botts:

I am sorry that my link has issues yesterday on the vitamin topic but thanks to Hala a working link was accessible.  Thank you Hala.  I just think it is important for folks to realize that vitamins are a life long commitment and not a hit and miss.  My eats for today are:

Breakfast:  Coffee & Miralax

2nd Breakfast:  Oatmeal

Snack:  Vitatop Brownie

Lunch:  Quest Protein Bar

Snack:  Vitatop Brownie (I love these little cakes, full of fiber, couple grams of protein and only 50 calories)

Dinner:  White Chicken Pizza Lean Pocket

Snack:  NSA ice cream

Exercise:  I walked 3.2 miles yesterday and hope to walk the same again today.

A word to the wise.  Always make sure that your chicken is moist enough.  I had BBQ chicken last night and needless to say, it hung up on me and would not come up or go down for 2 hours.  I finally was able to throw some of it up after I drank a little diet pepsi to loose it up.  Today my pouch feels sore and my throat is sore.  I want be having BBQ chicken again for awhile.

I hope y'all all have a wonderful day.  Temps here started at 60 degrees this morning and going climb to 84 degrees.  NICE!  As always, remember those vits and fluids.

You're so right about this being a lifetime committment. When I see those bills go to insurance for lab work and iron infusions, I thank God a little more for the insurance that I do have. Not sure what I'd do with out my coverage. Scary to think about.

I feel your pain on the stuck chicken. That is a horrible feeling for food to not go down or come up...just feels like a bus is parked on top of you. even when foods are moist if I don't chew, chew, chew I still have the tendancy to get stuck.

It's RAINING!!! still....forcasted to continue until Monday. I think we may have to swim to our cars when 5 o'clock gets here. I've started keeping extra shoes at work. The puddles are getting deeper and there's just something about soggy, cold shoes that doesn't make me happy.

Commute:  Coffee

Breakfast:  Smoked saugase & scrambled egg

snack:   apple

Lunch:   Progresso Soup (flavor based on which can I grab first)

snack:  Greek Yogurt

Dinner:  Leftover Chili

Tess - how do you like the Lean Pockets? I've considered sticking some in the freezer for quick meals and just haven't done it yet. I just restocked my work cabinet with lots of soups & chili for the winter months. I like knowing that it's there and regardless of what I chose it's going to be fairly healthy. I also keep some Weigh****cher & Lean Cuisine frozen meals on hand. That's a little more challenging because they love to use rice in them and I just can't handle the rice. Sad because I really miss rice. It was always a staple in our house.

Exercise is going to be in the form of house work tonight. I want to rearrange the kiddos bedrooms and really deep clean them. I figure I'll only get one done tonight.

Iris, I got some Lean Pockets to try and I really like them alot and they are quite filling with only 250-270 calories per pocket.  I have tried the BBQ Chicken (I know) in the pretzel roll and it was my favorite.  I also like the Philly Cheese steak and white chicken Pizza Pocket.  They are quick to prepare and they do not hurt my meal plan.  I give them a thumbs up.  Also, Amen to Insurance.  It still a lot cheaper to have than paying out of pocket for labs.

Glad to be able to help.
Sorry to hear about the chicken...it is funny but chicken, beef, pork don't get stuck, even when I know I did not chew it right but raw carrots get me every time, even shredded. That, and rice or  pasta are no go no matter what.
As for frozen meals - some people like the Atkins meals (most Walmarts carry them) but I personally don't care for them. My fav are Hormel beef roast - just the meat. I always have some frozen veggies (use steamer bags) or canned veggies. One Hormel meat dish is 2-3 large portion as for me. (They said 5.... But even my small pouch needs more than 1/5 of the package). I choose the beef or turkey - and keep frozen until I am ready for it. Nuke for 6-7 min.

Hi Hala.  I enjoy Hormel beef roast too but it has bit me twice also.  I just have to be very careful about chewing and not talking and making sure that the meat is super moist.  I have not try the Atkins meals yet but I am enjoying the Lean Hot Pockets.  I kind of burn out of Lean Cruisine awhile back and I can't stomach the weigh****cher meals anymore.  Always looking for something new to try.

Good Morning Everyone!

So far the day is going great and I am feeling good :) One more day left in the week!! on Day 3 of my 5DPT

Oh Tess, no fun when meat gets stuck! Tuna in my problem!  I always keep canned tuna on hand as a quick meal if I don't have time to prepare something.  I noticed after my first 5DPT a few bites in my stomach was so tight and it felt like it was just sitting in my chest! No fun :(

Here is what I have going on today:

B: Protein drink - large one this morning

S: SF Jello and Coffee

L: Tuna or some scrambled eggs with Salsa

S: SF Jello

Need to take my vits when I get home, I was running behind this morning! Also need to get back on track with my excercising.  I have been lazy :( Have a great day everyone!

That was exactly like I felt.  I thought about that commercial where the elephant is sitting on that man's chest for COPD.  I felt I had one on my chest too!  Feel better today though!  Have a good one.
