Happy Friday BOTTs.
This week has (and still is) certainly challenging with regard to sticking to the 5DPT but I am on my last leg of it today. I have re-learned the kind of control that I have been lacking for a couple of years now. Physically it feels really good to be free of the nasty carb addiction. Emotionally, I miss them tho. It's all in my head now. At least I have learned to use my pouch as it was intended to be used again, a tool. I like that I have remembered how to satisfy cravings in a healthy way. If I want something chewy, I will have chicken or tuna or turkey jerky and chew chew chew until I get to the consistency of baby food. I find that I was wolfing my food down before so I never satisfied my want/need to chew. If I feel that carb urge for a sweet treat in the afternoon...no hitting the machine for anything, an icy cold protein shake does the trick and it great for the additional protein to boot. I know I will always need to keep these things in the forefront of my mind, before my immediate actions! I may do the 5DPT again in the future, it's very empowering.
Breakfast: hard boiled egg
Snack: protein drink
Lunch: chicken breast
Snack: protein drink
Dinner: Parmesan baked tilapia
Snack: turkey jerky and a boiled egg
Also...I didn't realize how careless I was with my drinking close to meals or even taking a sip here and there during my meals. Very eye opening.
It feels good to be totally honest with myself and own up to my errors so that I can fix them.
