I knew I felt better. I knew my energy level is higher than it's been in a long, long time. I knew that the twitchy legs were gone. The blood tests proved it. I went from an iron level of 11 to 200!!!! Yeah me.

Doc wants to recheck in 3 months. I'm good with that.

Congrats! What did you do to make yours jump so drastically?  I had to have a hysterectomy in July because my anemia and iron levels were so bad.  Since then they have come up a little.  I've also changed multivitamins and that seems to be helping also.  But please share your secret!

Iron infusions!!! I've taken my multi-vitamin religiously since surgery and even with an additional iron supplement daily it was continuing to drop. Thankfully I have a primary doc who is very GOOD. She has made it her personal mission to educate herself about the special needs of patients like me. She's quick to listen and act on my behalf. No wait and see approach for her.

Good luck getting a handle on yours.

Great!!!

Don't be surprised when the ferritin drops to 1/2 your current values in no time.. For some of us - first few series - the iron gets up there, then drops.. the docs don't know why.   Mine initially went from 9 to 120, then dropped to 60, then to 30s  after one year. My second round of iron, got me to 195, then I dropped to 95 after 6 months.. But over one year  I only dropped 10 points.. so now my ferritin are 85.. and that is good enough..

I am so glad you feel better...
