Back On Track Together
Sunday, October 6th, Cardio & Cafe
Good morning, BOTT friends,
Hope everyone is having a great weekend...must be so, because there's very little activity here and if you're all out having fun, then that's great! I've had a nice weekend so far, especially on Saturday when my BF and I went out for the day. We did lunch, then a movie (Gravity was really good), then a trip to a fishing pier just to watch. Saw a guy land a nice red drum and that made my day, not to mention his, I'm sure. It was nice watching the families with the little tykes fishing, and the joy on their faces when they caught one. Priceless!!
I did a modified cheat yesterday, but only on fat and higher carbs due to my food being fried. Had a fried fish platter that came with five 2oz pieces of fish, fries, and slaw. I ate half of the fish for lunch, and the other half for dinner, had salad in place of the fries, and gave the slaw to my BF. I'm still SF and will remain that way, but I did have 3 cups of watermelon twice yesterday. Working hard on getting the water in every day, but getting the workouts done as planned.
Just thought I'd check in for the day. I'll post today's eats later since I'm not sure what I'm cooking yet. Have a great Sunday, friends :)
Sorry I've been MIA since Tuesday. Wednesday started out fairly busy at work (which is always good) but then life got interrupted by my Moma. She thought she was having a heart attack. She called 911 and life got crazy for a little while. Turns out she was having an Afib incidence due to her bp being too high. Spent some time in the ER (Wed/Thurs) and then visiting with her Cardiologist (Thurs). He ran more labs and more ekgs. Doubled one of the bp meds and as her scheduled for another nuclear stress test tomorrow morning. Then picked up the U-Haul Thursday afternoon loaded it with furniture and left home Friday afternoon (after arranging babysitters for my Mom & StepFather and my Aunt Kath ----I need to tell yall about her sometime ---that'll be a long post). Made a flying trip to the Mountains and got the house set up for my Boy who turns 23 this week
Finally home and settled in. Of course I had to come in and clean house and do laundry. It's been busy the past few days. Tomorrow morning I have a follow up appointment for last week's blood work. I'm crossing my fingers that the iron infusions worked. I'm pretty convinced that they did ---otherwise I wouldn't have had enough energy to put one foot in front of the other.
Needless to say my eating the past few days has been all over the place. I've gone from not wanting anything to wanting to eat everything in sight. I've allowed myself a little extra but I compromised by eating much smaller portions. Fast food was a staple while traveling and you can only eat so many salads. I did order an occasional burger but only ate about half.
Shelia, David & I managed to sneak a date night in while we were in the mountains last night. We ended up in Lynchburg and saw Gravity. WOW!!! It was the first movie that I've ever seen in 3-D. DOUBLE WOW!! Then an old fashioned date night ritual---Sonic Drive in. He had his milk shake and I got my Coke Zero with a vanilla shot. YUM!
Hopefully I'll have lots of good news to post tomorrow after Moma's stress test and my dr visit. It's about time for me to call it a night.

Iris... WOW, what a week you've had! I'm sorry to hear about your mom's ER visit, but glad it wasn't anything worse. That must've been really scary for all of you. I'd been in that situation with my dad several times so I know what a toll it can take. You and your mom are in my prayers tonight, and I hope she has no abnormalities with her stress test.
You are a woman who gets around! You're here, there, and everywhere! I was in Lynchburg with my BF back in August. I'd love to see the fall colors in the mountains if they've started changing. You are so right about "Gravity". I didn't know it was going to be in 3D when we got there, and I didn't want to stay for that show at first, but I'm so glad I did. The usher said they had to do 50% of the shows in 3D, and the time slot I attended was a 3D version. I read reviews online last night (after the show) and it's highly recommended that you see it in 3D. It was awesome!!
I did find out that movie going is not good for my back though...had a hard time finding a comfortable position, and when I did, it didn't last. But the movie kept me from focusing on my discomfort. Hope you have a restful night after all that activity this week.
