Has Any one heard of this - Garcinia Cambogia Extract?
I've been researching it for my BF. I saw the mini-infomercial with Dr. Oz, and was wondering if it was actually on his show (it looked like an excerpt from the show), but then there was something about Dr. Oz not endorsing any products. I saw it online when I googled it. There was a female M.D. on the show with him who uses it on her patients. She said the "average" weight loss was about 4 lbs per month, but that would be a very subjective thing and depend on so many factors, imo.
They stressed the fact that you HAVE to get the right dosage, because there are so many products made with garcinia cambogia in it, but they also contain fillers and things you don't need (to lower the price). They stressed getting the ones that offe,r I think, 60% of the active ingredient (don't remember the name exactly) and potassium...and that's it...no other ingredients, no fillers, no extra vitamins, etc.
According to several websites I saw, you take it 3 times per day before meals with a glass of water. I think the max dosage was 2000mg, but I may be wrong (it's been awhile). It is supposed to be a mood stabilizer and appetite suppressant also. It's not recommended for pregnant or nursing women because it hasn't been studied on that population, nor has it been proven to cause any side effects...YET. But I also read some reviews by people who had used it, and several stated they suffered "bladder infection-like pain", "pain in the area of the kidneys" and some said "severe nausea". There were also those *****ported no problems and said they did lose weight, though several others said they hadn't lost a pound.
THEN, there's the female M.D. *****commended diet and exercise while using the product.
Lastly, it's costly, being (the best ones with the recommended percentage of active ingredient) 49.95 per bottle, and they give you small discounts when you order 3 to 6 bottles at a time. I think that about did it for my BF, being that he doesn't have any proof that it'll work, and he didn't want to spend 49.95 to find out, lol. That's it for what I read. Let me know if you decide to try it.
