Hi Gaby
Sure hope the iron infusion makes you feel better quickly and you tolerate the rest of them without any problems!
If you do not mind me asking, what happened that caused you to need the iron infusions? How long until you feel the effects? Finally, how long do they last before you have to get infused again? If you are not comfortable, no problem, just say so. I am just asking questions, not questioning anything.
Louise.
Not exactly sure what Gaby's issues were to need the infusions but I just finished #5 of mine last week. My blood draw showed low months ago so we upped the supplements and then redid my blood work at the 4 month mark. My Iron numbers had slipped lower (Vitamin D & B12 came up with additional supplementation). Doc wasn't inclined to wait around and see if they would eventually come up. Ordered up the infusions using the Venofer type of iron (less side effects). Now I have to wait until the week of the 30th to have more labs drawn. I'll see my Doc on the 7th of October for the results. She's said that some folks need an infusion as often as every 6 months while others may never need another. I've talked to several women who have needed them again in 3 to 5 years.
I noticed a difference in my energy levels after the 2nd infusion. If my hormone issues wasn't raging out of control right now I'd say I feel the best that I have in years. The only side effect I had from the iron was the flu like body aches that I would have within 24 hours of each infusion. That was simply my body absorbing the iron. Well worth the increased energy.
Hope this helps.

Good Morning Botts:
I hope each of you had a great weekend. I was lazy on Saturday and spent the day doing absolutely nothing!!! On Sunday, I took my son to meet the Yale University Director of Admissions in Memphis to see if we might be interested in what they have to offer us. I ran into my plastic surgeon of all people with his daughter, we sat together and had a very nice visit. Now I want more plastics. Anybody got $20,000 lying around that they don't need.....That's what I thought...My eats for today are:
Breakfast: Coffee & Miralax
Snack: Pure Protein Bar
Lunch: Lite Hot Pocket (Something with chicken in it)
Snack: Banana
Dinner: Veggie Burger
Snack: NSA Ice Cream
Exercise: Riding my Bike
I hope everybody has a great start to their week. Remember those vits and fluids, they keep up healthy and wise.
Good morning and what happened to my day now that it is 3:44pm? LOL
Do you drink your coffee with the Miralax in it?
Just a sidebar, when I had by RNY, I was advised that it was not the best idea to drink coffee and I sure missed it. I ended up hearing about someone that made their protein shake with cinnamon-vanilla protein powder and heated it up and loved it; so I tried it and then I mixed it with my coffee, but made sure that the coffee was not too hot to curdle the protein. Ever since, I have been drinking coffee again.
How do you take your coffee?
