What day is it Botts?   It's HUMP DAY!!!!!!

So glad that this is a 4 day work week for most of us.  I did great yesterday with all liquid and a couple of protein puddings.  I will be eating the same today.  I just have so much more energy when I start detoxing and getting that sugar back out of my system.  I love sugar and it loves me but it sure is a "drag me down" kind of friend.  My eat drinks for today will be all protein shakes and protein pudding at the end of the day.

Have a wonderful day and remember those vits and fluids.

Are you doing a 5 day pouch test or what is this detox from sugar you are doing?

Where do you get the pudding?

Thx!

I did the 5 day pouch test about 2 years ago and it really got me moving to drop 70 lbs in 8 months.  What I do now is if I have a gain of a few pounds, I immediately go to all protein shakes and protein puddings for about 3 days and then I add back solid proteins until I am back where I want to be.  I keep my proteins up around 100 grams a day and my carbs below 50 a day.  This is what works for me and helps me maintain my loss.  This is also why I don't freak out when I "cheat" on my healthy living plan because I know I can take it back off with my "detox" plan.

Happy HUMP DAY to you too, Tess.  Tell me...when you say under 50 grams of carbs, are you referring to 50 NET carbs or just plain carb counting?

Hi Shelia.  When I am detoxing, I am actually referring to 50 carbs or less, when I am maintaining, I am more in the net 50 gram carb program.  Yesterday, I had a total of 613 calories, 29 regular carbs, 91 grams protein, 1400 mg of sodium.  I will do this for about three days and then I will increase my calories up about 200 for a couple of days and then back up to 1000 until I get back in the 1200 calorie range.  This may not work for everybody but it certainly works for me.  I will drop anywhere from 3 lbs up to 9 lbs in a week.  I call this getting the sugar water out of my system and putting back the premium water in.

It's Infusion #4 day for me today!!! I realized this weekend that I am getting my general energy level back up. I don't feel like I need to jumpstart my system as often with caffeine and comfort foods. With the exception of this weekend I've cut out the need for afternoon coffee. Over the weekend, a cup of coffee in hand kept me away from the junk food. I am pretty religious about not drinking with my food.

I'm really thinking that I need to get my head right and do the 5DPT. I need to dejunk the pantry again and clean out my cupboards. It will take me a few days to really get my determination up. So please stand by for further updates. lol.

Today is looking good:

Breakfast:   Turkey sausage on 1/2 english muffin

commute:   coffee

snack:       grapes & almonds

lunch:        chef salad w/ ranch dressing

snack:       peach & slice cheese

dinner:      Chicken fajitas

Lots and lots of decaf tea. Vitamins and meds for the morning are taken care of. Planning on walking the dog this evening (longer than normal----she ate too many table scraps this weekend and will benefit from it!!)

Have a great HUMP day.

I'd love to have a cat again. Cameron has some pretty severe allergies so I'm not going to go that route anytime soon.
