Back On Track Together
Back To Bariatrics Basics.. what a week!
Well! I spent 5.5 days roaming around Upstate NY with my sister and brother-in-law! It was a good time, but.. wow, am I exhausted!!
Food wise, I did good the first 3 days... then lost it. Basically because eating "continental breakfasts" and buffets in the casinos, etc.. it was nearly impossible to know what I was taking in or stick to proteins! I did have my protein shakes each morning, but... wow.
Last night, after I got home.. I really did a boo boo! I wanted some wine... needed to relax, and I NEVER react to a glass or two of White Zin!! Well.. pair that with a HUGE blueberry muffin and... oh, was I sick. Lesson learned... never again!!! Of course, woke up feeling fine. (that is one thing I love about this new life... no hangovers! LOL)
So... today I am back to liquids to baby my pouch for a day or two... then back to the simple basics again... so glad to be home where it's easy to keep up, keep track and know exactly what I'm eating!!!
I also cancelled my NUT appt... I was gone an extra day so was not going to make it back in time for the appt... but also because each time I call that office, I feel like I am bothering them.. imposing upon them... to do their job??? NO. I'll find another NUT. I loved the one I had in MD... but she is over 4 hrs away and I cannot justify the expense of the travel.. lol
So, my little munchkin (granddaughter) had her first day of first grade today... first full day of school! Schedules are going to make it very difficult to pick her up, and her brother from pre-school 12 MILES APART, AND BOTH AT 3:30 PM!! lol Oh well.. we'll work it out somehow! Now.. I need to go pick up a few groceries to get me back where I belong!
I'm sure you had a great time on vacation. Not to justify the couple of days of bad eating BUT when you recall our old habits you wouldn't have had 3 good days. Vacations are meant as a departure from our normal routines....now get back on track like you've planned. It's all good.
I know what you mean abou the NUT office and feeling like you're imposing. HELLO!!! I'm the one paying you people. I changed from a practice because of how blatant the preferential treatment was toward the drug reps. I mean give me a break. I'm sitting there sick and waiting fairly patiently while 3 different reps just waltz on back and you can clearly see them chatting with all of the office staff and docs. I think I could have overlooked it if had been a one time thing but oh no...every time I was there. If you're going to have a policy of walk in hours or appointment times for patients then do the same thing for the drug reps. Fair is fair.
Ok rant over.
Enjoy the grandkids. You'll figure something out.
