Back On Track Together
Weekend accountability...Cardio and Cafe
My weekend so far has been very good. For now I have the food demon under control. I went to a party last night and I had a protein drink on a way there, at the party I ate some crabs with butter and some veggies... Followed up with sausage with some cucumber... I had one mixed drink and drank diet tonic for the rest of the evening. There was a huge table with gazillion desserts... but I only ate couple of strawberries with a smudge of cream and a slice of fresh pineapple. Then drank the rest of my protein drink on the way home. My BF was on a service call all day so he missed the party but I brought him a plate of desserts...
I am sitting here drinking my coffee this morning and I am great. Before the RNY I could not have a plate of desserts at home and not eat it. Now - due to dumping and RH - I cleaned my diet so much that the plate could right in front of me and even though it may look very tempting - I have no problem not eating any.
My diet and exercise last few weeks is paying off. Not only my clothes fit me much better - but even the scale is moving in the right direction and slowly my back is doing much better.
Hope you guys have great weekend... Eat - love-laugh-and move..
Don't forget the water and vits...

I agree that it's been the perfect weather this weekend. We've had company this weekend and aside from not being able to take the boat out, it's been great. Last night they wanted to go out for drinks and appetizers at the beach. We suggested a local place that's on the Intercoastal Waterway about 20 minutes away. It was the perfect choice. They had a husband and wife playing and singing out on the deck so we sat out there. The drinks were great. (White Sangria for me - just one). The music was fabulous. The food is to die for. They have the best broiled seafood - almost equal to my Moma's cooking. So we were sitting there talking about how perfect everything was and how our lives are in just a really comfortable and contented place...when here comes a 105 foot super yacht gliding in and docking for the night. That thing was WOWZA!!!
Even seeing how the very rich live wasn't enough to knock me out of my contented zone. It made me stop and think about a big difference in my life prior to my RNY --- life then was so full of insecurities. I led a life that was all about settling for whatever came along. Now I live my life. I think that one of the reasons why this particular board is so important to me. We've all made that transition and when the old habits start to creep back in we find ourselves banding together to deter them. We may allow them back in but now it's on our terms because we do know what it feels like to get along without them.
Well, it's time for me to get off this couch, put the laptop away and get some stuff accomplished. I'm feeling a little (more like 10 acres worth) yard work in my immediate future.

Good afternoon, H.a.l.a., Iris, and all...It's been a great weekend here also, windy on the water, but great otherwise. I could spend all day and night on one of the local piers if only I could do some actual fishing :( I went out to one of them Friday night, sat in my car and jus****ched the waves crash ashore. There was a light rain, and lots of wind, and I was deep in my comfort zone. My BF was working, so I had absolutely nothing to do but have some ME time, and that's how I choose to use it sometimes. I watched a couple "daredevils" jumping and splashing in the surf (right at dusk, which is IDEAL feeding time for sharks, and there are PLENTY around here), but they seemed to make it outta the water ok after awhile. So I just listened to my CD's and played several games of "Candy Crush Saga" before heading home.
Yesterday, I lounged around and read/watched TV most of the day. Got my recumbent bike workout done, 65 mins, covering 7.1 miles and ate:
B: 2 eggs, 2 strips turkey bacon, sandwich thin with 1 tbsp butter sub
L: medium grilled chicken leg and thigh (skinless), coffee with Splenda and SF creamer (loving the SF caramel macchiato) and 1 tbsp half & half (gotta have my coffee sweet and VERY light :)
S: 2 medium plums
D: 4 ozs lean beef burger on sandwich thin, mustard, 1 tbsp ketchup, dill slices, 1/2 c Bojangles pintos with 2 tbsps sausage crumbles
LNS: 1 oz pistachios
Thanks for posting today, H.a.l.a. Wishing everyone a great rest of the weekend :)

My sentiments exactly, H.a.l.a. I had never been able to stay on track for any length of time until I found BOTT. It was always lose a few lbs, then the closer I got to the 20 lb loss mark, something would trigger a binge, and down I would spiral. I have found so much enthusiasm and support here that I have been able to remain accountable, and I look forward to being here every day.
I'll be very happy to reach the maintenance phase just like you and Tess, and I know it will take a lifetime of commitment, but it can be achieved. I am inspired by all, through the good and the not so good. Keeps me on my toes :)
Good evening, BOTT friends,
