Back To Bariatrics Basics.. once a week... ugh

Well... I have been doing really well lately!.. BUT.. it seems that I have ONE DAY a week that I just lose control and eat ALL DAY AND NIGHT!    Yesterday was that day this week...I had around 2500 calories!  This time I don't know what was behind it.. really. No real idea.  It wasn't a particularly stressful day, or anything like that.

BUT.. other than that.. I've been doing really well!  Sunday I went on a 15 mile bicycle ride with my daughter!  Can you say ouch?  LOL.. yesterday I walked 4.25 miles and today I think I may actually get to Curves!  I love going to Curves.. it's about the only social outing I get!  Unlike many of the ladies that go there... I actually leave there dripping in sweat!!  I push myself, and work hard.. for me it isn't just a gab session.

My knees are giving me a bit of an issue, but I'll push through.. I really want to do this.. and I AM walking the Pittsburgh half-marathon on May 4th 2014!!!  ..  Soooo. Today is a recovery day for me... lots of liquids.  In fact, I had a smoothie for breakfast that tasted like an espresso chocolate covered strawberry!!    2 scoops mocha Click (decaf), 1/2 small banana, 10 frozen strawberries and 8 oz unsweetened Almond milk.   Soooo yummy!!!!!

How are all of you doing???

One day a week may actually help you lose weight all week after that. It is called calorie cycling..

BTW: watch for real serving size in Click proteins.  - best if you can weigh the powder to make sure you get serving and not 1.5 serving.. (there was a post in the past that indicated that 2 scoops is actually 1.5 servings.)

I guess the shake was good - but - check the carbs and sugars... even though natural - the shake probably had more carbs that proteins. to me looks like at least 30 gr of carbs to 16 gr of proteins...

It was, in fact, higher in carbs... but it's very rare these days for me to do that... and over all, my day ended with about twice as many grams of protein than carbs, so I'm happy! LOL

Never thought about weighing my protein powder.. maybe I'll start doing just that..!!

I've had a rough week.  I've been in the ER twice with terrible abdominal spasms.  I finished the 5 day pouch test and tried adding back in carbs and have regained 3 of the 6 pounds I lost.  So tomorrow I am going to start the test over again.  I've walked everyday for at least 30 minutes, but today I walked for 70 minutes.  I just had a hysterectomy three weeks ago, so I can only walk at a pace of 20 minutes per mile.  So I almost got my 5 k in today.  I'm going to see the GI tomorrow afternoon in hopes of getting answers for all the pain.  I need to do a better job in getting in my protein.  I fell short yesterday and today!

I'm so sorry you ended up in the ER!  The pouch test may not be doing what you want it do to..  most use it to break the carb cycle.. but if you add the carbs back in, you will gain... maybe instead.. just concentrate on getting your protein first... and log your intake. That's what's working for me.

On your walking.. sounds great!!.. HOWEVER.. you may want to check with your surgeon about how far/long you are walking at 3 weeks after surgery.  My ob/gyn would not allow me to do that much so soon after surgery,...  I had wanted to start training to walk a half-marathon... but she told me no.. to keep it short and slow for at least 8 weeks....  you may feel great, and not hurt, but you have a lot of internal stitching and such!!

Just please be careful!!!
