It's a great day in Carolina. "MY" 13 year old started High School today. I love that I get to do this whole teenage boy thing again. I honestly enjoyed my boys the most during this phase of their lives. I know I'm nuts ---now yall know it too!!! We were all up early this morning and I fixed breakfast for my fellas before time to leave for work and school. His school is within sight of my office so he gets to ride in with me days. Afternoons he can ride home with his Dad if he wants or he can ride the bus if he wants. His dad works for the school system and his office shares a parking lot with Cameron's school. It's an early college program so in 4 years he'll graduate high school with a normal diploma and an associates degree from the local community college.
Can you tell I'm excited and proud of him?
Breakfast #1: I had coffee (the guys had pancakes)
Breakfast #2: Everything whole wheat bagel with Provolone cheese
Lunch: Turkey & Mustard on flat bread & grapes
snack: Kit kat (((((bad bad bad bad bad))))) Still can't believe I caved to it BUT having logged it I feel like I won a small victory.
commute: String cheese & grapes
Dinner: Homemade Beefaroni
Meeting my Moma and my Aunt at the local park for a walk after I get in frrom work. That's the reason for the snack on the ride home not sure what time dinner will hit the table. I've drank lots of water already today. No plans for stopping. Got my mornng vitamins and meds in.
Yes!! Yes!! It really is a good day.

Iris: That is awesome about your son being able to graduate high school plus have a two year associate's degree. My senior will have dual enrollment this year at the community college which will net him 12 hours of college work to transfer to the University of his choice, but I like your deal better. Also, Lord forgive Iris for the Kit Kat bar, she has repented!!! You are good to go now. Have a great evening!
Thanks for the intercession!!! At least I was able to stop before I needed a full blown intervention.
This early college program is really, really neat. The kids can only get in starting their freshman year. They can opt to go back to the regular high school if they don't like the program. (there is a LOT of on-line course work). They can take summer classes and they can choose to take 5 years to complete the program rather than 4 if they begin to feel over whelmed.
It is a wonderfull program. Our guy has always wanted to go into the Coast Guard. Our local community college just opened a aviation training center that he can work with as well. The plan will be for him to graduate in 4 years with either an associates in Aviation electronics or Composite materials. He really would like to try and get into the CG Academy rather than go in enlisted. Either way...he has a plan.

Ended up with a 2 mile walk when I got in from work. David had the brilliant idea that we should go out and celebrate the 1st day of highschool. I had THE best salad ever. Very fresh greens & vegetables with grilled mahi mahi on top. I'm stuffed but it was so good (and healthy). Had a vinaigrette dressing on the side.
Some very simple steps today but I feel like I've won a hard fought battle.

My day started out with A LOT of stress!. Had my munchkins (grandchildren, 4 and 6) who decided to pick today of all days to be horrible! Normally they are loud and boisterous, but good kids... not today!.. I had to send my 6 yr old granddaughter to bed for kicking her 4 yr old brother over a toy! She is usually the really GOOD one!... after naps, they were somewhat better and the day got better from there..
DH and I ended up meeting a friend of mine for dinner... (a bit of stress there too, but still a good time) I was soo good... went to Applebee's and I had steak and stuffed Portobello mushrooms.. no potatoes.. less than 400 calories total! Yeah me!!!
Got home and I'm topping the evening off with a Protein shake... oh, and I had a Starbuck's Latte.. first in over a week.. Dr told me to cut them out... well, I went from 4 or 5 Venti ones a week, to one grande. I think that's an acceptable compromise. To give them up entirely would mean giving up something my DH and I enjoy doing together occasionally... going out for a coffee... I do get them "skinny".. f/f and s/f... so one smaller one a week or 10 days will surely not kill me or keep me from losing.
Good evening, BOTT friends,
Well, I got the dreaded Readi-Cat (CT scan prep) down and had the CT scan of my abdomen done today. Awaiting results. Had to see my neurosurgeon after that appointment, so my day has been really non-stop. I intended to sleep this evening before watching my late night comedies (I LOVE "King of Queens"), but did my bike workout after downing my iced coffee. I'm REALLY wired now, lol!!
Recumbent bike workout done for 82 minutes covering 10.1 miles. Today I ate:
B: 4 strips low sodium turkey bacon, Iced coffee with Splenda and 6 tbsps light half & half (late breakfast after CT scan)
L: 4.5 oz lean beef burger, sandwich thin, 1 slice deli cheese, 1.5 tbsps ketchup, mustard, 1 tbsp relish
D: 7 ozs BBQ pork loin chop, sandwich thin
S: medium peach, 2 strips low sodium turkey bacon
Gotta lay off the turkey bacon. I should have stock in the Butterball company :) Goodnight friends!
