Whining Wednesday

I feel whiny today. I really hate whiners and here I sit feeling like one. It's not going to be a great day at this rate. I seem to have lost my motivation for proper diet and exercise. I'm craving all the things that I know are "bad" for me. I'd rather flop on the couch than walk the dog. blah blah blah.....

Next wednesday is my annual appointment. I dread it. Unless someone has developed THE miracle pill that will cause me to drop a ginormous amount of weight in the next 7 days then the appointment is not going to go well ----at all. I've already had my labs drawn and I know that part of that will bring me a glimmer of good news. I'm worried that the low iron may be realted to another ulcer. At the very least, an ulcer would explain some of my food choices. Normal people lose weight unexplainably with ulcers.....my pattern is to gain.

Thanks for allowing me to whine and snivel. I feel a bit better. I'm going to attempt to start my day over. Planning my eats just might be the key.

Commute:  Coffee

Breakfast:  Scrambled eggs

snack:      mini blueberry muffin with cream cheese

Lunch:      Leftover Porkchop with green beans

snack:      Yogurt with bear naked granola

Dinner:      Lasagna (made without noodles for my diabetic step sister)

Dessert:    Frozen Banana (blended as ice cream)

Good Morning Iris:

You and I must have been posting at the same time.  You can whine any time you like.  I went for broke this vacation and ate to my heart's content.  I gained 5 lbs. but went all protein for the past two days and took 6 lbs. back off.  So plan your foods or go all protein but you still can get a few pounds off before the doctor's visit.  Hang tough!

I've had more than a whiny wednesday....I've had a whiny July!!  You hang tough...forget the past and just concentrate on the NOW!!  I do have to say that my eating was put into perspective today!  A co-worker who happens to be Islam whined, only a few more days left....when I asked what she meant....she said, this is the month of Ramadan...they FAST for the entire month!!  No eating from sun rise til sun set!  Made me feel very small for complaining about what I was NOT eating.  I did say I was very impressed with her devotion because there are not many of us who have that kind of determination and faith.

Soooo....hang in there...and don't beat yourself up!

First things first. Your labs are MORE important than weight. Once your labs are good - you should feel better and eventually the weight should follow.
As for ulcers - some people get hungry and hurt when the pouch - stomach is empty. When I get ulcers meat and dense proteins are hard to digest and may cause pain - but slider foods are OK. Unfortunately - slider foods do not keep me full and a lot of them are not the best choice. Foods that makes me full - also cause my pain - so .... It make sense you may have a hard time losing..

It's such a viscious cycle! It does explain things though. Guess I'll be adding the purple pill back into my daily regiment. I'm very guilty of feeding the pouch some slider foods at random to quelch the burn. Honestly I don't realize I'm doing it until something like this comes along.
