Surgery Consults Tomorrow

Tomorrow morning I meet with the general surgeon who will finally repair my umbilical hernia from my first pregnancy in '08. It slipped under the mesh from my previous hernia repair and now it's really large. I've checked in with him periodically and since I'm close to goal now I want to have it repaired at the end of summer. Last time I saw him, he asked me if I had ever considered having a tummy tuck during the same surgery. I've thought long and hard about what he said and his reasons, so I also have a consult with a plastic surgeon tomorrow afternoon. I've been reading lots of posts on the Plastic Surgery forum and Real Self website and although feeling overwhelmed with information and questions for both of them, it can't hurt to meet with the PS too. You deserve this!  I had my hernia repaired at the same time as my tummy tuck and so glad that I did.  I love the lean look of my body now!

I can't tell you what to do Tigs, but I know I'd go for it...especially if it's all at one time, and most especially if insurance is going to cover it as necessary.  You didn't mention that, but I know a couple of people who got theirs paid for through insurance.  Wish I was one!

Thanks everyone! Both consults went very well (i think) and I have lots of information to process. Plastic surgeons are all so different in what they recommend and how they do surgeries and aftercare! I'm going to sleep on it and I'll post tomorrow. 😄
