I'm just gonna slip in here and say hello. I need a support group for getting back on track. I've tried going it alone but not with alot of success. It's hard not having feedback and knowing what is or isn't normal.

Today's menu looks like:

Breakfast: Egg and cheese omelette

Snack: 1/2 serving FiberOne cereal

Lunch: Cesar Salad

Snack: Protein Shake

Dinner: Beef Taco

Dessert: 3 squares of organic chocolate

1500 calories/76g carbs/100g protein

I am eating too much cheese these past few days.

I'm going to the gym to "play" as usual (which means 10 mins treadmill, 20 mins bike, however long feels good on the trampoline and possibly a swim in the pool) and yoga class. I don't swim unless it's hot even though it's an indoor pool. I am always cold enough as it is! But I love to play in the water. I live in the central mountains of Colorado, a heat wave is 75 degrees. The sun is very brutal at this elevation though.

Welcome aboard!  I love that 75 degrees is a heat wave in Colorado.  Your food looks good and your numbers are great.  As long as you are moving your body then play all you want at the gym.  I look forward to seeing you post here at Back on Track.  We love to share ideas and see what everybody else is munching on.  Have a great weekend!

Thanks!

I'm 180lbs so I do need a few more calories than many post ops at goal but I've had concerns about a stretched stoma lately. Looking at my menu and then looking at yours... yikes! I seem to eat quite a bit more.

I try to keep my calories between 1000-1200 calories a day during the week and extra on the weekend.  I eat mostly protein bars during the day as I do not take a lunch break and these are convenience.  I find that if  I eat more than 1200 a day I will not lose and sometimes even gain.

I really see where I set myself up for carb cravings this afternoon. Starting the day with a bagel is not in my best interest. I had busy brain or something going on this morning that I just grabbed the first available option. I should be glad it wasn't the cinnamon rolls that a co-worker brought in but honestly I doubt there would have been that big of a difference between the 2 when it came to carbs...neither was a protein rich option. I thought I had reigned the carb monster back in with a low-carb high protein lunch....but cravings are cravings and I caved in.

Good evening, BOTT friends,

Well, I went to the ortho doc for my follow-up visit today.  She had my MRI results and it turned out ok as far as no new fracture or whatever.  There were several bone spurs (calcifications) and some degenerative changes, but nothing to account for the lightning flash of pain I had in my back.  Actually, the pain is better because it's not happening 20-30 times a day anymore, but it still catches me at least 5 or 6 times a day.

What they did see though was cysts in my kidneys, and a "lesion" in the pleural space of my right lung.  She referred me back to my primary as this really needs attention.  She pointed out that lung conditions could cause that kind of radiating back pain (which I was aware of), and it could be anything from infection, to a little bronchitis, to...well, we won't go there.  I made the appointment to see my primary (which won't be until the 25th) and that's that for now.  I'm leaning toward it maybe being infection since the pain has eased tremendously, as some infections will go away without treatment.  So, the search continues....

Got my recumbent bike workout in this evening, 41 minutes covering 5.4 miles.  Today I ate:

B:  protein shake made with vanilla protein powder, SF vanilla International coffee and 1/3 c skim milk, 4 strips turkey bacon

S:  1 c  fresh cherries

L:  3 ozs grilled chicken breast on sandwich thin, 2 tsps mayo, lettuce, tomato, 1 c fresh strawberries

S:  unsweetened McDonald's iced coffee (with Splenda)

D:  4 ozs leftover grilled sirloin, 1 egg + 1 egg white, sandwich thin, 2 tsps butter sub, 1/2 c strawberries

Goodnight friends :)
