Back On Track Together
Monday, June 17th Cardio and Cafe
Morning all. Great weekend for me, walked, had friends over, managed a few ****tails and was 3 lbs lighter this morning!!! Great day! I plan on it being another great day too! I've been up and walked for 30 minutes, soaked in the tub and now I'm all ready for work, dressed and everything!
Haven't decided on food yet but I do know it will have plenty of protein and be under 1300 calories.
Have a great day!
Hi Debra:
Can you change the date to Monday, June 17th, Cardio and Cafe. It may throw some folks off. Thanks.
I had a weekend of swell hell. I gained five pounds over night on Saturday but I am now back down five pounds today. I swelled so much that my compression garment was strangling me and I had to remove it. I feel better this morning but did absolutely nothing this weekend. I did manage to cook my husband a Father's Day meal on Sunday evening. My eats for today are:
Breakfast: Coffee & Miralax
Snack: Quest Brownie Bar
Lunch: Quest Brownie Bar
Snack: Greek Yogurt Bar
Snack: Cantalope
Dinner: Roast Beef Fajitas
Snack: Mini Ice Cream Cone
Exercise: 2 mile walk in neighborhood
Have a great day and don't forget your vits and fluids.
My weekly accountability post:
I am doing good. It has been 2 weeks since my surgery and so far so good. I can eat, small amounts but meat and veggies so far has no caused me pain.
Yeay my DOC!!
Exercise is still a challenge. I start walking on my treadmill but I already got low BS after 30 min of walking. Not cool. I need to figure out how much cortisone I need to take extra to be able to do that. That' why I stopped exercising. Not only low BS leaves me shaky for hours but all the calories I burn during it I had to replace and then some after. Not cool.
But overall not bad. In the 2 weeks I lost all teh weight I gained during the surgery plus I lost an addition 1 lb. So I am now back into my normal weight range .. 162-166 (closer to the top level - but still - that is great).
A few more doc visits to wrap all the testing and I hope I will be cleared to do more things.
eats are very typical:
coffee+ coconut milk
green protein shake
proteis shakes
Lunch: eggs or some other protein plus veggies.
nuts or nut butter
dinner: proteins and veggies (finally I can eat)
LNS: cheese or nuts..

Good evening, BOTT friends,
I got back yesterday afternoon from our 2 day Mother/Daughter weekend at a local hotel with my mom and 4 sisters. We had a blast, and have decided to do this more often...at least 2/3 times a year. We're all in the same general locality, so it isn't hard at all, and since 3 of us are widowed (including mom) and one is divorced, then there is no hubby around to have to consider. The other 2 hubby's are great, and both are very considerate as are the boyfriends of my widowed sister and myself...no whiny men to worry about, lol.
We played games, shopped, watched a couple movies, had a steamed crab feast in on Fri nite, and went out Sat nite. I stayed true to my eating plan the whole time except for ONE thing that I just couldn't resist, and it was not sweet. I had a fried softshell crab with my broiled surf & turf meal on Sat. It was cloud light and not greasy at all.
I took my breakfast to the hotel with me so I didn't have to deal with the hotel's "continental breakfasts", and took my snacks, including Quest bars. I actually ended up eating less, and only 2 meals a day for those 2 days. On Sun evening, following my return home, I took my granddaughters to my sister's Father's Day barbecue. I had a grilled pork chop and vegetable soup (no starchy vegs) and that was it.
I was able to avoid desserts at the restaurant, the bakery after our restaurant meal, and the chocolate cake or apple pie ala mode at the barbecue. I also didn't get any of my planned recumbent bike workouts in (the hotel gym had no bikes at all). But I lost another 3 lbs over the weekend, and I'm now 204!!!
My back is giving me a fit, and it's now my thoracic spine between the shoulder blades. I'm afraid it's another compression fracture and have to see my doc this week for xrays. It's VERY painul...not constant, but hits whenever and wherever (like in the middle of Stein-Mart while shopping on Saturday). It nearly brought me to my knees, and if there weren't so many people around, I would've cried. As it was, when it struck, I cried out and couldn't move for a minute. So glad my mom and sisters were there for support.
Sorry for the length, but I'm just happy to be back and posting. I just finished my recumbent bike workout (riding very carefully) and managed 61 minutes, covering 7.6 miles. Not too shabby for someone with back pain and osteoporosis! Today I ate:
B: 1/2 c SF vanilla International coffee, 6 natural almonds, 2 strips turkey bacon
L: 4 ozs low sodium deli ham on sandwich thin, 2 tsps mayo
S: 1/3 of a Quest protein bar (shared with 2 granddaughters who wanted to taste them), 1/2 small cantaloupe
D: undetermined at this time. Going to sleep now.
Have a great evening friends :)
