Congrats on the new great nephew!  I'm glad to read that you are doing so well post surgery.  I am seriously thinking about giving the Quest bars a try.  I would like to have something convenient to have on hand that is good for post WLS peeps.  I don't post very often, but I really appreciate your inspirational dedication to continuing with your health and commitment to being the very best you.

Thank you so much.  I have missed your shining face on the board.  I would go to GNC and buy a couple of different bars to try before committing to buying a box.  I favor most of the original line bars than the natural, but I do love the cookie dough bar that has now come out.  Brownie and peanut butter are two of my favorites that I like to heat up and chocolate chip cookie dough can be eaten as is.

I used to love them - but then I discovered I dump on them. Some - like Tess - do great with them - but some of us post op RNY - we are able to digest and absorb the fiber like it was sugar... Try a 1/2 bar first and make sure you are in the group of people that have no issue with them.

I love them as well and enjoy one every day. fortunately I don't have any issues with them and I have hypoglycemia . I have also tried most of the flavors, buying many flavors individually, mostly from netrition.com and Quest. I took one of Tess' many wonderful ideas and microwaved some of them and yum! My favs are the chocolate brownie and chocolate chip cookie dough. I've enjoyed many other flavors though.

After a year of repeated sinus and ear infections, many "preventative" meds, and then antibiotics, both little ones will be having OP next Tuesday (tubes inserted and adenoids removed). We took them to the hospital today for a tour of ambulatory surgery and the peds unit where they'll recover. Everyone was great and both kids seem to be going with the flow.
