Welcome Sherry! I think you'll find this group to be very supportive. If you are not doing so already, I encourage you to plan your meals and exercise for the day and then post later what actually happened. It can be an eye opener. Many of us have gone back to WLS basics. Take a look at earlier posts and see what others are doing, eating, etc. You can do this!

Hi Sherry,

I agree with Tigs.  I post every day unless my pc is acting up, then I still post, but by then it's the next day.  Posting every day to the group keeps me accountable.  I would always keep a food log when I was trying to "eat right", but it was for my eyes only.  This way, I can help others when they're seeking different ways or foods to eat, and I get the same help from what others post.

I eat the way I intend to eat from now on, making substitutions and lowering the fat and calories on foods I love.  I am not "dieting"...I am eating for health and fuel for my body, enjoying it and not missing a thing.  Why not?  Because I decarbed first, and continue to eat very low carb, no sugar, no white flour, no fried foods.  And I work out almost every day for at least 30 mins.  I also take my vits and try to get my water in every day.

When I started (Feb 26), I felt I would just yo-yo like I used to, but I was surprised and strengthened by the support of this group.  I gain a lot of strength by reading about others and knowing that I am not alone.  I pray that all of us find strength and encouragement here, as we undertook a huge chance by altering our bodies to achieve better health, and we have not failed...only took a misstep somewhere, but we still have the "tools" to fix the problems and make it right again.

So take it a step at a time...don't think of it as a diet, but a way of life, and I wish you all the best.  I've lost almost 30 lbs of my 71 lb re-gain, and will be out of these dreadful 200's very soon.  You can do it too, just find whatever works for you.  Have a blessed day :)

Night shift can be brutal.  I love nights and typically function best, but if I deal with insomnia I start hitting the caffeine and sugar hard.

I have gained a few pounds and have been trying to get them off.  It seems like one step forward and 2 steps back for me.  I know what I need to do, but stress and uncontrolled emotional eating is derailing my progress.

Good luck!
