Hello BOTTS! I need some advice please. Some of you know me, but for those of you who don't here's a little info. Even before RNY in 2006, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia. However, a year or so before surgery, my fasting glucose also started to creep up between 99-109. Since surgery, I have continued to be hypoglycemic (it has gotten worse). I just did my yearly blood work and my fasting glucose was once again 104. However, my insulin was still excellent at

My fasting levels have been great. It's the levels 2-4 hours after I eat that seem to be the bottom dwellers. I'm sure there will be others who have some answers and suggestions for you. I'm still new to the hypoglycemia myself (less than 3 months). What fun.

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

I deal with RH and to some extends with hypoglycemia. The latest was sure to adrenal insufficiency. IMO due to RH you may have develop insulin resistance.
I know I have that. When my BS is not low - it is typically higher that a 'normal' person.

I am totally ignorant in what is good or what is bad (I follow my doc all is well) BUT....my hubby, who has NOT had WLS, but who is overweight at his yearly physical the doc was concerned with his blood sugar level being too high and of course ordered more test.  Funny thing is, he had changed his diet when I hit change the diet stage in my LIVE to LIVE lifestyle change a month before....Any who....he began looking more closely at the side effects of his maintenance meds and discovered 1 of them may cause high blood sugar.  So he discussed it with his doc and is being weened off of it and will retest after it is totally out of his system.

Look at everything you take...that may be a culprit too!
