Good Morning Botts:

Are we all ready to get back on track?  I have noticed that I was not the only one missing on our blog this past week.  I hope to get my last drain out Wednesday of possible.  My little buddy and I are ready to part company.  I have pretty much been eating what ever my body has desired to offset some of the physical pain along with the protein.  This week I am more back on track with my eats.  Today's menu is:

Breakfast:  Coffee & miralax

Snack:  Quest Brownie Bar

Lunch:  Turkey & Dressing

Snack:  Protein Shake

Dinner:  Salisbury steak and corn casserole

Snack:  Special K Popcorn chips

I hope everybody is ready to get back to blogging.  Have a great day and remember those vits and fluids.

 Tess

I really didn't spend much time at all on line last week. My weight didn't flucuate so I'm actually quite happy about that. During stressful times I tend to eat. I was able to stick to my plan. I've given myself to eat as much PRODUCE as I want when I'm stressed out. For some reason I just don't turn to carrots and celery sticks in times of trouble. We'll see how long this little mind trick works. I've got fruits and vegetables readily available.

This week should be fairly mild and uneventful. Just another routine week at work. YEAH!!!! One thing I did flounder on last week was getting in my evening vitamins a couple of times. I could really feel it in my knees this weekend (as well as a hot flash or two from missing my estrogen those days).

Commute: Coffee

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with cheese

snack:  Caramel rice cake

lunch:  leftover beef & broccoli

snack: Celery & Peanut butter

dinner: Grilled chicken & salad

It's raining like crazy here so I think tonights after dinner walk is going to be replaced by time spent challenging David to a few Wii games. I feel like Winning!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see you getting back to yourself.

I deal with challenges as I try to supplement with cortisone.

Not sure if you remember but I had bunch of test to figure out what is going on with me including the brain MRI to check for possible tumors - abnormalities.- MRI was clean, but I do have SAI - secondary (or central) adrenal insufficiency.   My pituitary do not make enough hormones to stimulate the rest of the glands.

That explain some of my low BS - hypoglycemia, severe RH, and overall feeling tired.   The solution: hormones supplementation - so to all the vits and herbs - I need to add 1-2 -3-4 times a day (as needed) hydrocortisone. Too much makes me *****y, not enough make me very tired, with possible low BS and low BP.  Now it is clear why I had a such a hard time dealing with major stress at times, and every time I deal with a lot of stress (good or bad) I literally I felt like I could not face the world, and got ill.

Most likely I had that issue before RNY and as I am getting older - it only gets worse. Most likely the very strict - starvation mode I was under early on after RNY contributed to worsening the condition of my pituitary glands.

I already found a support groups for that kind of condition and I am trying to learn how to deal with that day to day.

I do hope that with the supplements I will be finally able to get back to exercise, and be more active.  But one thing at time.

I do get more hungry, and my belly pain has not resolved so I may need to have a surgery - adhesions???

But knowing that I have SAI - with proper supplementation - the recovery of surgery should be much faster than without it.  My last surgery too a year from my life - and during the same time - I developed a severe menopause symptoms. (very typical for SAI)

I started the hormones a week ago, and I can see a huge difference.  So far my weight is the same - but I may see some gain initially, due to minerals balance (SAI can cause sodium deficiency) and water gain - but that would stabilize my BP.  I still have to eat proteins and fat and some carbs, and protein shakes, nuts, and 1-2 time s day meal is all my belly can handle at this time. (if i try to eat more than that - I end up in pain).

eats:

coffee with coconut milk
nuts
protein shake
protein shake
yogurt with proteins and flax
protein shake, nuts
some food ... not sure what... maybe fish?

LNS: nuts or nut butter.

I've been on Hormone replacement therapy since my total hysterectomy in 2005. My boys call my Anti-Depressant my "Happy pill" and my hormones are my "Anti-***** pills". I remember the Doc telling me that we would have to play with the dosages to get them just right. When I asked how I'd know if they needed adjusting he just looked at me and said "Oh you'll know" Boy that was an understatement. I get certifible when they need adjusting. I threatened to toss out the Christmas tree and return all the presents one time simply because one of my family members asked for a light bulb. Another time I told my Doc I was going to cancel by teenager's breathing privileges.

Thankfully I seem to be calming down at this stage of my life. My kids are used to my "moods". I try and shelter david's kids from them. I've had a couple of times where I've just declared a time out and locked myself away in the bedroom to read or watch TV.

I do make life interesting for those around me.

WOW Hala!  was just diagnosed with adrenal fatigue myself... I feel terrible, my mid-section has gotten "puffy" and of course I've gained weight! My Dr. only put me on adrenal gland supplementation and he suspects low thyroid. I feel like a mess. I hope you get to feeling better and if you have any tips for me please share.

I found this site and I am trying to read as much as I can to understand what other people do to deal with adrenal issues. I hope you getting more tests to determine how is your thyroid. Good luck.

Last week was a crazy busy week for me so I didn't have much time to post, but thankfully this week is back to normal so far.  It's good to hear from you Tess.  I've been reading a lot of posts on the PS forum and I'm finding out a lot of things I didn't know about like the swelling, nerve pain and numbness that can last for weeks or months after a TT.  Those things make me a little nervous but not enough to change my mind.  I'm counting down the weeks...6 to go...YAY!

I spent my last week recovering from the trip to California the week before...but as of last Friday I was back to myself.  This week I'm changing up my exercise time to after work so I can stay up and enjoy the sunshine until the fall...That's the trade off, exercise after work so I can stay up till the sun goes down or get up way early to exercise in the morning before work but hit the bed 2 hrs before the sun goes down.  I chose the sunshine!  2 weeks of being way off schedule I did gain a couple of pounds but this week I was 2 lbs less than before I went to California.

I did walk for 30 minutes after work and eats, Morning smoothie, tuna and salad for lunch, apple for a pm snack and crunchy celery for munching.  Dinner was boneless skinless baked chicken breast with asparagus!! yummy!  Totals 813 calories and I still get a healthy snack before bed!!

Glad everyone has had a great day!

Good morming, BOTT friends,

Posting yesterday's meals today (Tues) since I was away from my computer all day and night.  Happy to see your post, Tess, and hope you're feeling better.

Didn't get my daily recumbent bike ride in yesterday, but had some bands with me and got in some arm work.  Feeling better every day since I started my new iron supplementation, and that makes the bike workouts breeze by.  But I'm still a little too tired to pump it up to 10mph, so I just do what I feel as long as I get something done and keep moving.

Yesterday I ate:

B:  1 egg and 1/4 c eggbeaters, 4 strips turkey bacon, apple slices

S:  1 c fresh strawberries

L:  5oz turkey burger w/1 slice ultra thin cheddar on sandwich thin, mustard, 1 tbsp ketchup, dill pickle slices

S:  protein shake made with SF vanilla international coffee and 1 tbsp half&half, 1/2 oz natural almonds

D:  1 1/2 c crab salad made with 2 tsps reg and 1 tbsp light mayo, tomato slices

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday :)
