Mini Goalers -- Check in for the week of 4/22/13
Hello BOTTers!!
How is your week going? Good I hope. Please feel free to use this thread to check in daily or check in when you can. I find checking in makes us more mindful of the goals we set for this week. Keep up the good work and remember we can do this! Success is never giving up! Looking forward to meeting news ones in the group and re-connecting to old friends. It has been too long. Hugs!
My goals this week:
1. Keep my calories in the green 6 days
2. Go to bed by 11:05 four days
3. Eat 1 veggie servings 5 days
Tues/Wed check-in:
1. 2/6
2, 0/4
3. 2/5
**20+ min exercise - 3 days
**8+ cups of water - 3 days
Last 2 days in green on calories and ate 2 servings of veggies both days for a total of 4 servings....
So far so good this week. I've kept my water bottle or a glass of decaf iced tea with me. I've been in charge of meals at Moma's ...so EVERYBODY has had to eat what I wanted (he he he he...they'll eat healthy even if it kills them!!) And I've done remarkably well on taking my meds, vitamins and supplements.
Moma had the heart cath and she does have a blockage in the heart of about 60%. She is scheduled for a stint on May 6th. Then we should be another 30 days before we can get her in for the vascular surgery on the carotid artery. It is 85-90% blocked on her left side. All of this sort of makes her a walking, functioning time bomb. She has strict orders on what she's not allowed to do. HA!!!! She is the most independent, strong willed woman I've ever known. Telling her she can't lift anything heavier than the coffee pot or the 2 liter of sprite zero is in her mind cruel and unusual punishment. I'm sure I'll be bald headed by the time this is all over.
Lots of fresh fruits and veggies starting to show up here. YUM. I'm really looking forward to a strawberry smoothie this evening as a treat.
Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Good job dear! And I will be keeping your Mom in my prayers. I so understand the challenges of taking care of ourselves and taking care of parents too. My Mom has been battling cancer since 2005 and taking chemo for the last 2 years or so. My Dad is temporarily in a nursing home for rehab from a terrible fall that affected his knees. Hang and there and keep up the good work!
