Back On Track Together
Tuesday, April 16th, Cardio & Cafe
Good Morning Botts:
I had a late start to my morning so I will probably feel rushed all day. I woke up at 2:30 AM and went to the bathroom and the next time I woke up it was 7:10 AM and I have to be at work at 7:30 AM. I made it but I am not sure I have drawers on.My eats today are:
Breakfast: Coffee with Miralax
Snack: Quest Protein Bar
Lunch: Protein Shake
Snack: Quest Protein Bar
Snack: Protein Shake
Dinner: Quest Protein Bar
Snack: Protein Shake
We went out to dinner last night and I ended up eating a salad and 3 bites of a country "fried" steak. It was good but the lettuce cramped my stomach bad later. Not use to ruffage when I been filling up on protein. I started my Bromelain and Querctin today per surgeons instruction. to help reduce swelling and bruising after surgery.
I hope each of you have a wonderful Tuesday. Please remember your vitamins and drink, drink, drink!
I think I've caught up on reading the posts from everyone since I was on here Saturday. It's been one of those whirlwind kind of weekends - Monday. Lots of family time. We had the kids this weekend. Our custody hearing for Daivd's kids is on schedule for next Wednesday. YES!! we started this process in the fall. Moma had her CT scan and cardio appt yesterday so we were busy with that. She has to have a stress test Thursday morning then back to the surgeon next Tuesday afternoon. I think I'm beginning to meet myself coming and going. Today I'm back at work where life is peaceful and rotuine (among the chaos).
I have tried to be good on taking my vitamins and drinking. Beyond that I can't make many promises.
Commute: Coffee
Breakfast: cookie & glass of skim lactaid
snack: scrambled egg
lunch: salad with grilled chicken & wheat thins
snack: peanut butter & banana
dinner: leftovers (chicken w/ mixed veggies)
I cannot believe I has a cookie for breakfast. I went in the breakroom specifically to make my eggs int he microwave and the next thing I know I'm munching on a cookie. I caught myself before I went back for more. So I opted for the glass of milk for now and then in about an hour I'll make an egg. Accountability - that's why I'm writing it down. Good grief.

I make my own cookies. Protein coconut - this is current.
I made protein-almond, or protein with PB, or pumpkin-ginger spicy cookies..
I just use protein powder - and mix with other stuff (flax meal is my thickening agent ) including nuts, or seeds, or coconut.

Does anyone remember the banana "cookie" recipe posted by Danosteve (I think the recipe was on the C&C for April 3). I haven't tried it yet, but it makes sense and sounds good. Danosteve said they taste like banana bread, and there's only 4 ingredients with no sugar added at all...just very ripe bananas, oats, unsweetened coconut and cinnamon.
Gonna try it soon.

Iris, Don't be too hard on yourself. We just have to keep trying. One thing I love about this group is that I can see other like yourself continuing to keep trying, and keep picking yourself back up when you fall down. It helps me so much to know I'm not alone and I'm not a failure because we all mess up sometimes. But we are determined to never give up...NEVER!
So far today:
1 SF energy drink
a glass of calorie countdown milk with meds
16 oz crystal light
I will add in as the day goes by but thinking I'll have a yogurt for lunch and for dinner, probably another yogurt. Going to see my friend who just has Sleeve surgery on Wednesday. This is my first visit with her in many years, so really looking forward to it:) It's her birthday, so I'm going to come bearing gifts of Sonic crushed ice, a record keeping food journal, and a SF jell-o parfait. LOL
