Back On Track Together
Thursday, April 4th, Cardio & Cafe
Hello Tess and everyone
I am back in Texas. My mom is out of the hospital but very tired and weak. Well the month I spent with her in and out of the hospital took a toll on my weight loss progress but not at much as it could have. I was 279 when I joined this group and in the 6 weeks I was here before Mama's crisis I lost 22 pounds. If my math is correct I was down to 257. This morning I weighed 263 so I gained 6 pounds. Some off that is water I know because my legs are swollen. I am getting my pantry in order so I can start back with a vengeance on Monday. I will make good choices until then but come Monday I am back on my protein regimen.
Where did you say one could buy Quest bars and which ones do you heat in the microwave? Also what is Vitatop?
Todays eats are
Breakfast protein bar
Lunch - Udon noodles with sauce made from low sodium soy sauce and a little butter
snack - protein pudding
dinner - fish or poultry and veggies
snack - a little cheese
Hi Linda:
So glad that your mom has turned a corner. 6 lbs. is very doeable considering what you have been through this past month. You will get those back off in no time. I buy the Quest bars at www.questproteinbars.com and www.netrition.com. They also carry them at the GNC stores now. I heat up the original bars for about 15-19 seconds depending on the microwave I am using. I heat up the natural bars for about 12-14 seconds same about the microwave. Wanda Bryant here on BOTT got me hooked on the Vitatops. I get them at Walmart in the frozen breakfast aisle. Not all Walmarts carry them those. They are really like muffin tops. They come in different flavors but I am a Deep Chocolate flavor woman. They are 100 calories each, with 4 or 5 grams of protein and like 9 grams of fiber per cake. They are just a wonderful treat that I enjoy at the end of my day. They are kinda pricey at about $4.00 a box for 4 cakes but I think I am worth a dollar a day. I hope you have an awesome day today!
B: Bannana and dannon lite and fit strawberry yogurt and coffee
S: Pure protein bar
L: 1/2 of a ham sandwich on Rye, 1 pear, and snack size hershy bar
S: baby carrots and 2 laughing cow cheese wedge
D: Chicken taco with a WW tortillia with tomatos spiniach, avacado and FF greek yogurt
S: SF hot choclate with skim milk
And a few handfuls of Peanut butter trail mix.
Not a very good eating day today:(
Good evening, BOTT friends,
Very good day for me. Got my bike riding in early to make up for none last night. My back was up to par, and that was great. It's a recumbent bike, so there's lots of back support there anyway. I got in 70 minutes all at one time while watching TV...got in 8.3 miles (riding slowly), so I was very happy.
No way that would've happened on my treadmill, but then that's a completely different workout all together. Still, it'll be great when I can use the treadmill again. The waters in my area should be warming enough to do some fishing soon, but alas, I haven't been cleared for that so it will really be hard to stay away. But I can visit the piers and watch. Fishing is my life's blood!!
Today I ate:
B: 1 egg, 1 egg white and 1/4c eggbeaters, 3 strips turkey bacon, sandwich thin with 1 tsp butter substitute
S: 1/2 protein bar
L: 3 strips turkey bacon, 2 ozs low sodium deli ham, 1/2 protein bar (craving salt today for some reason)
S: protein shake made with almond milk and 1/2 medium frozen banana
D: turkey meatballs "sub" on sandwich thin with 1 tbsp parmesan, grilled asparagus
It's a cold, rainy night...the kind I love, and I'm snuggled in bed to read until my late night shows start. Hope everyone has a pleasant evening, and sweet dreamzzzz
