Wednesday, March 27th, Cardio & Cafe
Happy Hump Day Botts:
Can you believe how fast March has gone? We were discussing at my house about Monday being April 1st. April is the month of my surgery, Wow! Time is running and I am trying to keep up with it. My eats for today are:
Breakfast: Coffee & Miralax
Snack: Quest Brownie Bar
Lunch: Protein Shake
Snack: Quest Apple Bar
Dinner: Large Protein Shake
Snack: Quest Vanilla Almond Bar
I have to fast after midnight as I am going in the morning for a full lab work up on my blood. Sounds like FUN!!!!! I hope y'all have a wonderful Wednesday, remember your vitamins and drink plenty of fluids.
Good morning Tess,
Tell me, do you microwave all of your Quest bars, and if you do then for how long? I didn't care much for the apple bar (I only ordered 1) and didn't really like the peanut butter supreme until I decided to microwave it like you suggested for the brownie bar and OMG!! it was great. In hindsight, I probably should've tried warming the apple bar too.
Also, for you coffee drinkers out there...I drink it occasionally, but it has to be very light and I didn't want to use a lot of coffee creamer. Does it work with almond milk? I once tried making instant pudding with the only milk I had on hand...almond milk. It was a soupy disaster!
Thanks!
I do microwave all my bars anywhere between 14-19 seconds. The time is according to the microwave that I am using. At work, it is 19 seconds, at home 17 seconds, and at my daughter's 13 seconds (she has a newer microwave). I love the SF/CF International coffees, French Vanilla with S.F. Praline Pecan syrup. I allow myself one cup each morning with my miralax and it does the job for me. Hala has more experience with the almond milk than me. So hopefully, she will chime in on this.
I hit the ground running this morning and it feels good. The sun is shining and it's going to be a GREAT day. My glass is not half-full it's overflowing. I will do what's necessary to take care of myself or else I'll be no good to anyone. I've taken my daily meds and morning vitamins. I've got a fresh gallon of decaf iced tea in the fridge at work. I feel good about me and my plan.
Wake Up: Protein Bar
Commute: Coffee
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: 1 slice of Supreme Pizza on a thin whole wheat crust (last nights dinner)
Snack: Greek Yogurt & handful of almonds
Dinner: Hamburger steak (on the Foreman) with grilled onions, peppers and mushrooms
Shelia-----I'm with you about the almond milk. I really didn't like it. I can do the FF lactose free stuff and I've even come to like it.

Iris,
I like the almond milk, especially for mixing my protein shakes, and it's good for cereal but I only use it in that area for oatmeal b/c regular cereal causes RH with me.
I was wondering if you can use it as coffee creamer. I've never tried it, and when I made the pudding, it didn't work so I was thinking maybe you can't use it in some areas of cooking or baking in place of regular milk.
I'm gonna test it tonight....no coffee in the house right now.
Good evening, BOTT friends,
Slow day for me. Caught up with some much needed reading but that's about it. I was going to use my recumbent bike starting today, but my back said "not yet". I do plan to try again tomorrow though. Today I ate:
B: protein shake made with coffee, 2 creamers
L: meatball "sub" on sandwich thin, 3/4 c marinara with onions, peppers, mushrooms and 1 tbsp parmesan
S: 1/2 apple, 1 Laughing Cow cheese wedge
D: KFC grilled chicken leg and wing, 1 c collard greens
S: protein bar
I also got all my water in today, YAY!!! Working on a zero cal Lifewater now while I watch late night tv. Hope you all have sweet dreamzzzz!
