Good Morning Botters:

Today is my 7th Anniversary of my gastric bypass surgery.  I started this journey at 306 lbs.  My lowest weight for about 1 second was 149 lbs.  My current weight 157 lbs.  Through all my ups and downs this has been one awesome ride.  This journey has led me to some wonderful folks through OH and maxed my credit card several times over the years for new clothes.  I would not change a thing.

My eats for today are:

Breakfast:  Coffee & Miralax

Snack:  Protein Shake

Lunch:  Protein Bar

Snack:  Protein Shake

Dinner:  Protein Bar

Snack:  Vitatop

Have a wonderful Thursday, take your vits and drink your fluids.

Tess,

Congratulations angry on your 7th Anniversary, I am so happy for your success. I know the struggles and the ups and downs and while I haven't reached my goal but I understand your happiness.

I'm trying the Quest Protein Bars today, and while I like the taste for names or an occasional snack I don;t think I can do them everyday. I will buy more to keep on had because they do provide a lot of protein.

Still trying to find my nitch and get back on track.

Have a great day!!!

Thank you so much!  Did you heat the Quest bars up?  It really makes a difference in the taste and density of the bars.

Tess,

No, I didn't heat them up, but I haven't given up on them yet.  I still found them to be a little too sweet, but not as sweet as some of the others I've had.  I will let you know.

Happy Anniversary!!!!!!!!!!!! It is truly an amazing journey, isn't it? That's awesome that the son was in Rome on the day they chose the Pope. He's going to have so many stories about the trip BUT I imagine that's one detail that will always be retold.

Had my appt with my primary doc this morning. She's convinced it was a blood sugar episode as well. She made me an appt with the nutritionist for next month. Until them she wants 3 blood sugar readings a day and a detailed food log kept. She believes we all have triggers and this sshould help find mine. Her weapon of choice was just the same as yall suggested----peanut butter nabs.  Mentally, I felt much better after I got responses from you gals yesterday and then to have her confirm it has made me much less anxious. Now I'm coming back down with the creeping crud...sore throat, coughing and sneezing. YUCK!!!!!!! This is the second go around with it. I'm not happy about it. I've got too much I want to do and that needs to get done.

Today's plan looks like this:

Breakfast:   McD's sausage burrito

snack:        Yogurt Parfait

Lunch:        Tuna salad, cheese & crackers

snack:         Click Smoothie

Dinner:        Broiled porkchops & Mixed Veggies

lns:             graham cracker with Peanut butter

Thank you!  So glad to hear that the doctor agreed with our assessment.  With all the ups and downs in the weather it is a wonder you are not sick everyday.  I have been lucky so far, knock on wood.  I hope this second round goes away quickly.

Not sure if your doc checked your vit D level.  I noticed that when my Vit D is high I don't get nearly any colds - I got a very mild flu this year,, but it did not stay and I felt better within a few days and good to go in a week. So maybe checking D - and it is low - get some more in you may be a good idea.

As for the low BS - watch for protein bars - some of the so called " low net carb bars " still gave me nasty RH..

Yep the D is low. She's doubled me up on the D3 at least until June when I have my next recheck.

How much D3 you are taking?

I take 50,000 iU dry D3 2-3 times a week. Keeps my levels at 80-100..

here is where I get them:

http://www.amazon.com/Bio-Tech-D3-50-000-100-Caps/dp/B000A0F2B2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1363366492&sr=8-1&keywords=vitamin+d+dry

Dry D3 is better for us than regular D# in oil because most of us still malabsorb the oil.  Even normal people can benifit from 10K iU daily,  For us - some take 50,000 daily, some - once a week 50,000 iU dry is enough.

For better absorption - the dry D3 shall be taken away from any fats,

10,000 D3 a day and yes it's dry...but only been taking this level and type for about 2 weeks.
