Ready to get back on track!

I am so happy I found ya'll! Thank goodness for Google. I have been a member of OH forever but was too ashamed to hang out in the VSG forum. I didn't want everyone to see how hard I've failed at the sleeve.

Over the past year I have gained back 45 pounds of the 126 I lost in 2011. I know the issue is emotional eating and grief but I can and will do better.

I am on day two of the 5 day pouch test and joined the gym again, I got in an hour and half  of cardio and weights yesterday.

I am a new parent to my 12 year old brother, he came to live with me after my mom passed away last year. Nothing could have prepared me for this new life. He is mildly autistic and quirky. I never had to try and figure out child care and lunches before.  Not to mention having a boyfriend for the first time in 7 years. I won't bore you with my life tragedy but just knowing that I am not the only one makes this journey seem doable.

Congratulations on finding your new home on OH. You are still down 80 +/- lbs. CELEBRATE that !!! It sounds like you have a full load right now. We're here to help in any way that we can. Come post in the cardio and eating daily thread. And feel free to talk about whatever else you need to. You'll be surprised to find out just how not alone you really are. We all have our issues that we struggle with. Some of what I'm about to say is very new to this group.....

Just to tell you a little about me.  As the mother of 2 boys I had no idea what to tell them when their Daddy died in 2001. We struggled through somehow and I've worked on a degree in Grief & Bereavement counseling over the years since then (15 credit hours to go!!).  In 2004 My own Daddy died and I really thought/ hoped/ wished the world was about to end. Never have I navigated such uncharted territory. Well dont you know to never say never. In 2005 I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer and given a very grim prediction of 18 months at best. HA!! I'm still here. It was in 2008 that I decided it was time to do something for me and that's when I had Gastric bypass. After losing some of the initial weight I met THE man of my dreams. 4+ years later we're still together and I'm helping him raise 2 great kiddos (8 & 13). Our 8 year old is having some issues and was just diagnosed with ADHD and Asberger's so I understand quirks.

Feel free to message me - ANYTIME. I hope you are already feeling better about getting on track. The mroe we tell our story the less power it has over us.

Hi Calibelle:

So glad to have you here.  The five day pouch test is really good for detoxing you from carbs and preparing you for better eating.  It sounds like you have a lot on your plate but you also sound like a strong person who is dealing.  Take it day as it comes, some will be good and some not so good but we are lucky to have brand new starts each day.  Glad to have you on board.
