Trying to do this for real!

I have been struggling to get back on track for over a year now, and the scale really shows how on the scale...I'm up to 191 as of today.  At my highest, I was 267, at the lowest 156.  Needless to say, I am freaking out.  I don't feel small anymore.  I see myself doing all the old things that I used to do...pre-surgery.  Even worse, I'm getting married in July and I really don't want to be a fat bride!

My fiance was recently told that he is diabetic and needs to change his diet and lose weight, so today we start fresh!  I am very nervous as we have gotten into some bad eating habits and the wedding stress makes it worse.  I've never been successful before so it's hard to believe that I can turn this around...

YOU CAN DO THIS. All of this. If I were you, I'd make an appointment with a nutritionist that understands both diabetes and WLS as soon as possible, Then I'd grab your man and yall make a committment to do this. It's your wedding present to each other....to live long healthy lives so you can annoy each other into oblivion (Whoops!! That would be my life - sorry!) Then right after I made that appointment I would sit the dear fellow down and ask him what exercise plan he wants....home gym equipment or a gym membership. Then make daily exercise a priority for both of you.

Take a few calming deep breaths and come here daily...to post, to worry out loud, or whatever you need to do.

Hi Brandi:

I understand the wedding stress.  I planned my daughter's wedding while she was out of state and she left everything to me.  I gain about 25 lbs. under stress.  I did not have time to take care of myself and did not even realize that I was eating my way up that much.  You can take the bull by the horns and show him who is boss.  When you start getting stressed, call your bridemaids, chew on them instead of that candy bar.  We are here to support you, you can do this!
