Back On Track Together
Need ALOT of help getting back on track again!!!!
It's been a long time since I've even logged in here, and for that I'm sorry. But I'm making a promise to myself to log in at least once a day and post something positive. The past 2 years has been pure hell for me and I've been recently diagnosed with depression. Never thought I'd be depressed but low and behold that ugly monster has found me. Long story short, that stress has been removed from my life and I'm starting to feel "normal" again, what ever that is.. LOL But seriously, because of the situation I was in I went back to being an emotional eater and gained 60 of the 150lbs I originally lost back. I need to get my eating back on track but I'm not sure where to start... 5 day pouch test?? total liquids?? Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. This is my promise to myself, I will loose the weight I gained and feel healthy again, I will like myself again and I will NOT let anyone ever treat me like that again....
Thank you for taking the time to read my rant! I know I can do this
Hi Michelle. Welcome to the group. Just a short message to say hi.
How to start over? get back to basics. One day at a time. One meal at a time. Don't drink with meals, stop drinking at lest 10 min before yu eat, and don't start until at least 30-60 min after. Drink a lot of water (flavored is OK) between meals. Protein - dense proteins first, then some veggies, then - if you still have space for something else - some complex carbs. would suggest higher proteins low carbs and moderate fat diet.
One step at a time... Small goals. I do believe best for us may be whey isolate, or concentrate. I try to maximize proteins, and my goal is app 1200 cal, with 120-150 gr of protein a day, 60 gr of carbs, and 40-50 gr fats - good - natural fats (including coconut oil, butter, flax meal, olive oil, and natural fat in food and nuts).
Some good sites for recipes are here- some of us are great cooks... and my favorite: http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/
Also you can google "low carb recipes" and many sites will pop up. Paleo diet sounds very interesting, but I am not ready to give up dairy nor I can really eat some grains they recommend.
My fav protein powder is About Time Whey, but I also use Egg white proteins (with stevia - no splenda) like Healthy and fit Brand. Egg white protein is somehow weird taste and there are days that I can't drink that... But i think I am developing allergy (most likely already have that ) to whey and dairy.. so I do try to limit the exposure. But for now I am not sure I could manage with no proteins shakes or my powder. Any vegetarian shakes (soy free) that I tried - did not taste right and I know I would not drink them full time.
Beside that - Greek yogurt (plain but at least 2% fat) and cottage cheese, eats and fish, veggies.... are a great choices.

Hi Michele. Welcome back to the BOTT Board. Hala gave you some wonderful information on getting back on track and getting back to basics. I have posted several things today to other bloggers questions. You might want to read all the information there too. I wish you great success on getting back on track. You can get that 60 lbs. back off. Just set small goals of 5 lbs. at a time and take it one day at a time. You are so worth it.
Hi Michele
Welcome back to the bott group. Congratulations for keeping off 90 lbs.!!! Please look at what you have accomplished. I find that logging my food at the end of the day helps me make better choices through out the day. When I make mistakes (and I do) I try to pre plan a better choice for the next time I am in that position. For example if I blow it in a restaurant, I think about a way I can eat healthier the next time I go to that restaurant. If I overeat on a food at my house I won't buy it again. If I really screw up I do some physical activity to help burn it off rather than eat more to sooth my guilt. Welcome back, Tri
