Just wanted to say hi to everyone

I'm Shelia, and I had my surgery on 4/4/2000.  I started at 344 lbs with my lowest wt being 167.  I gained wt through the yrs, but remained well below 200 lbs for many yrs after.  I now find myself  weighing 238 lbs through negligence and very poor food choices and am looking to undo what I've started before it gets too far to turn back.  I am on day 1 of the 5Day Pouch Test, and it's not so bad....I just try to remember what it was like those 22 (and I mean 22) days I was on nothing but clear broth, watered down apple and white grape juice, SF popsicles and SF jello post op, with absolutely NO protein shakes recommended by my surgeon at that time.  At least this test only requires 2 days of liquids.

I'm doing protein shakes now, jello and broth and just made low fat butternut squash soup for tomorrow.  I was on OH a couple nights ago after many yrs away, and found this group.  Thank heaven, and it looks to be the place to go for support, so I'd like to thank the group leaders for allowing me in.

I see, that's why I didn't hesitate to join.  From what I've read, and the fact that there's a response to everyone, it's a warm group of caring and sharing people.  Thank you for welcoming me!

Welcome to BOTT Shelia:

I am a fan of the five day pouch test for decarbing your body and getting all the sugar back out.  It really helps me get started on track again.  Awesome on you being 13 years out.  We can all learn from you too.  Glad to have you here.

Thank you for the welcome, Tess.  I'm so glad to find this group.  Just finishing day 2 of the pouch test and I seem to have survived unscathed. If I can be of help to anyone, I'm here!  Awesome job yourself on losing your regain.  Praying it'll happen for me too.

www.5daypouchtest.com.  It is a way to decarb your system and get a jump start on getting back to basics.  A lot of folks call it resetting your pouch.
