Linda:

When I had my regain of 70 lbs. I basically did the same thing for the first 3 months.  I keep my calories around 700-800 daily and was walking about 45 minutes a day.  During the next 5 months I increased my calories to 1000 daily and walked for an hour a day.  I took off all my regain in 8 months doing this.  I know you can too!

I had my surgery 6 1/2 years ago.  I had little bounce backs of 10 pounds or so over the years which I easily got rid of but this year was a killer.  In August of 2011 I weighed 208 pounds about 30 pounds away from my original goal and 10 pounds above my lowest weight.  then came my sister's cancer and my mother's declining health.  My sister always told me everything that was going on in her life and when this happened she just stopped communicating.  That worried me at first and then I didn't know whether to be worried or pissed.  I heard from her after her mastectomy.  She had 36 weeks of chemo then surgery.  A couple of weeks after surgery I brought her home with me for a couple of weeks and got her strength back.  she then went to her son's and is now with her daughter.  All of us are in the Houston area.  she is feeling better and driving again.  She is going through radiation at this time and so far it has not had any ugly side affects.  All this to say that as an emotional eater I went into overdrive and got up to 279.  I am now at 260.5 and trying to get back to onederland. It is much harder to loose 80 pounds than the 10 or so I regained before.  Just gotta stick to it.

Linda you can do this.  I stress ate my way up to 225 lbs. from 155 lbs.  I had the 10 lb. bounce which I was okay with too but then I had major job stress between real estate bombing and construction declining that I ate another 35 lbs. worth.  Then my daughter decided to get married and at the time was working on her Ph. D and did not have time to plan a wedding.  I ate my way up another 25 lbs.  After the wedding and a steady dose of Lexapro because of my stress, anxiety and depression over my weight.  I started back down the path of losing.  I have been able to maintain my 155 -157 for over a year now with the exception of my 7 lb. gain in the last few weeks that I have already taken off.  My original goal was always to get to 145 but If my body likes 155 then 155 is where I will be!

Hi Tess and Botts,

Tess, I don't know how I missed it but I am so sorry about Sep. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, they truly are a part of your family. Also wonderful news about your son's second place on his project, that's wonderful.

It's kind of gloomy here today but it's in the low 40's so can't complain too much. Did 12 minutes on elliptical and 15 on bike. Should have gone 3 more minutes to make 1/2 hour of exercise but my knees said no you're done. I went to grocery store after so I figure that counts. I've read you don't have to do all of your exercise at once. If that's true maybe I'll just do 20 minutes at Snap and walk later for 10 or 15 minutes.

Anyhow my eats for today:

B: 2 eggs, 1 slice cheese,salsa
S: 1 cup cottage cheese and 2 T salsa (I love salsa can you tell?)
L: 1/2 Panera's Chicken Frontego
D: not sure yet

Hope you all have a great day!

Thank you.  I want you to know that I am proud of your accomplishment on the elliptical.  I have tried to do this and my knees and hips hurt me too much.  My daughter will get on this and do 45 minutes straight.  It is her favorite exercise.  I have often split my exercising up in two 20 minutes sessions with basically the same results.  You can too!

Thanks Tess! I should probobly admit that I do the elliptical on lowest setting and no incline, but I do it! Also there's only one machine at Snap I can use, it's different than the others and it's much easier to use. If it's not available, I use the treadmill or bike til it is. I think you do great with your exercise, I'm inspired by you!
