Good Morning my lovely Bott Friends:

I got up late but I did not even let it bother me this morning.  I took my coffee and miralax on the road and still managed to get to my job on time.  I suspect that I will be running most of the day as it is right now anyway.  My eats for today are:

Breakfast:  Coffee & Miralax

Snack: Quest Brownie Bar

Lunch: PB Toast

Snack:  Quest Brownie Bar

Snack:  Vitatop

Dinner:  Hamburger Wraps

Snack:  Apple

Exercise:  45 minute walk around the neighborhood.  I have increase my walk to 2.4 miles now.  In about two weeks I should be back to walking 3.2 miles a day for 1 hour.  I do feel so much better since exercise is coming back into my life.  I knew I would, it is just getting started that is the hardest step.

Have a great Tuesday.  Drink all your fluids and take all those precious vitamins.

Hey Tess and Botters,

Thanks for the reply to my rant yesterday Tess, time to toughen up and get through this. I got up this morning and gained 6 lbs. since yesterday. I'm thinking it might be the cotizone shots I go in my knees yesterday. I was so hot yesterday too, I mean wearing shorts with the fan blowing on me while everyone else was bundled up. My sister said maybe it was the shots so I'm thinkig it might have something to do with it. Anyway I'm not gonna weigh myself til at least Monday, follow all the rules and your suggestions, going out for that 25 calorie hot chocolate today. Thanks for always being there, you are an awesome lady. Good job on the walking!

My eats for today are:

B: was a breakfast quesadilla-egg, cheese and veggies with a bit of sour cream and salsa
S: chocolate protein pudding
L: salad with tuna and lite italian and feta with a small apple
S: chocolate protein pudding
D: pot roast with onions and mixed veggies and 1/4 c potato
S: orange

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hi Edie:

You definitely did not gain 6 lbs.  It is the shots.  I have heard of people on this site say they have gain up to 10-12 lbs. with these kinds of shots.  Fluid retention at its best.  Hang in there, you will get your mojo back.

Hi, I'm new to the BOTT group and hope to be able to be on here pretty consistently.  I started back up seriously a week ago as I'm still not to goal and I had my surgery April of 2010.  I have about  35 lbs to go.  I felt so great after losing 75 lbs that I just relaxed what I was doing and that definitely derailed my progress.  BUT...I'm confident that I will make it!!  Since starting back last week, I've lost 4 lbs...so I'm thrilled with that even if it was all water.  I've been measuring everything, drink a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, then a good meal at night with protein and veggies.  I've cut out most carbs and aim for 80-90 grams of protein a day.  I've been drinking all my water and I've always exercised - so just trying to be consistent with 4-6 cardio sessions a week.  For the first time in my life I enjoy the exercise and look forward to it.  I did get a Fitbit for Christmas (from my husband) and I love tracking everything with it.  I put my meals in on MyFitnessPal.com and it works great with the Fitbit.  I find myself always trying to beat the day before.  So...anyway...I'm trying to be good everyday, but I know it's hard to be perfect - so I'll just keep up with what I know worked for me before.  Just wanted to give some background about me and tell you all what I'm doing (to keep me honest??) haha!

Breakfast - GNC Pro Performance 100% Whey Choc shake

Snack - Coffee with SF creamer

Lunch - Adkins Advantage RTD shake

Snack - string cheese, veggies, lite italian dressing for dipping

Dinner - Turkey burger, salad, lite italian dressing

Snack - 100 cal pack dry roasted almonds

Water - on track

Vitamins - after lunch and after dinner

Exercise - 1 hour of Zumba after work

Nice to meet you! I had my surgery in December of 2010 and my story sound a lot like yours but I have farther to go to reach my goal. I've never been at goal in my life so I'd be happy to lose 60 and then see how much farther I can go. Actually I'd be thrilled to lose anything at all. I'm glad you're doing so well I'm trying to get back on track too, my carbs today worked out to about 60 or 70 today but it's a start, I want to get lower, got to go out and get some more protein powder and some 25 calorie hot cocoalike Tess suggested and am stealing some of your meals too they look good. Take care and good luck

Hi Edie!   Nice to meet you too!!  Well since we are almost surgery buddies - let's try and kick this weight thingy together for once and for all!!  BTW, What surgery did you have?   It's been a long time since I've lost anything, so it feels good and I so want to keep it going.  I was looking at some threads from some long term veterans and they said that to start losing again we would need to cut back to 800-900 cals a day and very low carbs (from veggies).  So no actual carb foods like rice, potatoes or pasta at any meals.  The only carbs I've been getting in are from my shakes and veggies.  It's tough to do it at first, but I think I've got it down after a week.  That was my problem (as to why I stopped losing) - I started eating carbs like chips and baked goods!  It was such a shock (I think) to be able to lose and eat those things periodically, that I started eating them more often....then I just stopped losing.  Go figure?!! haha!  So...it's back at it as now I have this wonderful tool to help me get to my goal.  I'll try to check in daily to see how you're doing...can you check in everyday?  That would help me if you could so as to keep me on track too!  Best of luck to you too!

Tammy

I'm in! I had gastric bypass, my surgeon didn't offer VS just the RNY and Banding but I chose the banding cause I had a lot to lose and didn't like the idea of the band possibly slipping but that's me. I'm trying to get where you are food wise. Had a long talk with my big sis, she had RNY about 10 years ago and she said the same thing keep your carbs low and protein high and lots of water. Today I ate that breakfast quesadilla and realized after I ate the tortilla had 25 carbs, oh my! So I just had a salad for lunch and am skipping the apple orange and mashed taters but I am going to have a few carrots with my dinner. The rice and bread and pasta isn't my problem so much but I am a HUGE potato freak, baked, fries chips you name it. I did the same thing you did. "Hey I can eat these chips and cookies and they didn't bother me at all!" Big mistake to see the least. I have to get it through me thick skull that I have to eat this way for the rest of my life. I mean when I get my weight off I may add in a serving or two of bread, potato or fruit but am really gonna need to stay away from it all for now. We can help each other stay on track I can use all the help I can get! You'll find that Tess and everyone else here are wonderful people and are a big comfort and help
Have a good day!
