Officially back on track

I went to my pain management doctor and he asks me what's up with my weight.  I say very funny.  I know I am up 35 pounds from last April, partly due to being on steroids for half the year.  But I am off them now.   He doesn't know that it was more and that I've started to lose it.  I've lost 8 pounds in the past two weeks.  I'm officially back on track.  I signed up to walk the mini marathon again this year.  I am going to train better than I did last year.  I want to beat my last years time.  I got my sister to commit to doing it with me.  She even went to water aerobics with me today at 8 am on a Saturday  morning.  I'm so ready to do this.

Cool! I wish you the best.  I am trying to get more active.  It really hard for me in the winter and because I changed to an earlier work schedule.  However, I made the change as of yesterday to return to my prior schedule so I can get in the 30 minute complete work out that help so much last here.  I was able to pull back from 225 pounds to 190 in 7 months and now I am back in the 200's.  Actually 220 as of this morning, I did notice when I did have a good morning workout my eatting was controlled  during the day so I am changing things up again.

Support is key to very work out!

I am back on track with you.  I am only cutting back a few hundred calories a day.  I plan on eating this way forever so if it takes years to lose my 47 lbs., I am good with that.  Steroids definitely cause weight gain especially in high doses.  He must not have known you were on them.  I was on HCTZ for blood pressure and was gaining 1 lb. a week for months.  I also had given up hope in my RNY and was seeking a revision.  So a lot of it was from not caring too.  The Mayo Clinic web site listed weight gain as a side effect to HCTZ.  I am off it now because I need all the help I can get to lose weight.  I certainly can't have medications working against me.  Lisinopril causes weight loss and is a blood pressure med as well.  It is working better for me.  Sometimes we need steroids and just have to deal with the weight.  I am glad you are off of them now and back on track.  Tri
