It's a BEAUTIFUL morning in Northeastern North Carolina. Cold but the sun is out and it's not windy---I'll take it. It amazes me how much a few rays of sunshine can improve my mood. My "sunny" disposition is back and I feel like I can conquer the world....carbs may be another story.

The more I read, the more convinced I am that I need to detox from the white stuff (I sound like a drug addict). I've just got to get my head completely in the game. I've started reading "The Hunger Fix" by Pamela Peeke. It's about detoxing and food addiction. I'm only about 3 chapters into it because it's one of those reads that makes you stop and take stock of your life. Getting control of your life over the food demons is harder than detoxing from drugs. Your body doesn't have to have the drugs in order to function. It wants them but doens't have to have them. Food is another story. There's that fine line between fueling your body and simply feeding your addiction. UGGGGhhhhh...no easy answers in life.

I'm taking my vitamins and drinking my water. Today will be a good day and I will make every effort to stick to my plan.

Commute:       Coffee w/ splenda and ff french vanilla

Breakfast:        Greek Yogurt with a small handful of pumpkin spice granola

snack:              Orange

Lunch:              Chicken Tortilla soup & whole grain crackers

snack:              Celery w/ peanut butter

Dinner:             Homemade Pork Chow mein

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

No sunshine here yet but I am hopefully by lunch.  The weatherman said that we will be back in the deep freeze tomorrow.  Yay.....You are right about the fine line of want and need.  I know what my body needs but I know what my head wants and sometimes it wins out.  Oh well, sometimes I start over 3 or 4 times a day and other times I am great for a week.  It is just according to who I let win out.  Have a great day!

It is sooooooooo cold here in CT!! It is currently 14 degrees. indecision I walked the rest of the way to work after parking my car, and my lips and

nose was frozen!! I had gloves on and the whole time I could slowly feel my fingers getting numb! Geesh!! As soon as I got into work I made

myself 2 cups of steaming hot coffee...yummy!      That warmed me up quite nicely!

Tess, you were so right about the salt!  I weighed in this morning at 174.2!! Oh happy day!   Hopefully, I'll see 170 lbs. soon. I'm very

happy with my progress and I can see it in my stomach (the indentation, losing!) and also my hind quarters is nearly gone!

Thank you (Tess) for your advice and thank God I found this support group because it's just what I needed! I'm feeling so healthy and good

Be careful outside in those temps.  I hear that you can get frost bite really easy if you are out for a prolonged time.  So glad that the scale was your friend again today.  Your food looks really good today, you will be seeing 170 soon then 160, then 150, so on and so forth.  Have a great day!
