Good Morning Tess and Botts:

It's very cold here too, only 21 degrees! indecision

I weighed in at 177.0 today!!!! How can that be?? Water weight??  I even exercised on the Ab machine and with hand weights for about 10 minutes yesterday.  So I don't understand it because I had lots of veggies at dinner time.

Oh well, I really can't worry about it because I know I didn't go overboard with anything, maybe under my protein intake. I'm not going to let what the scale says make me crazy because if I do, I'll sabotage everything I've accomplished. Please note: My clothes are fitting a little looser since I've started on my quest to lose this last 40 lbs.

Tess, any ideas or comments, please?

So my eats for today are:

Pre Breakfast: Coffee, coffee, coffee w/ 1 packet of Raw Sugar, 2% milk, per cup

Water flavored with Hawaiian Punch Sugar-free flavor packet (16.9flz oz x 5 (today)) THAT'S MY GOAL!

BREAKFAST:    1/2 cup of oatmeal w/1 Splenda and 1/4 cup of 2% milk, AND 2 tbsp of peanut butter

LUNCH: 7 slices cheddar cheese (cracker cut), baby carrots (about 4-5),

SNACK: 2 tbsp. of peanut butter, and Orange (medium)

DINNER: 1 Scrambled egg w/2 slices of cheddar cheese, and 1/4 cup of salsa.

Stay warm today everyone and make it a great day! kiss

p.s. I didn't want to post my weight today because I feel like I did something wrong, but I know I was still on track. I know I must and should post whether my weight is up or down, and even if I fall at times (which I most assuredly will) because accountability and help is what we all need to stay strong and get back on track together, right?

Hi Scherrie:

I went back to yesterday and checked out what you ate.  You had bacon and ham which both are high in sodium.  I would say that they are the reason that you show a weight gain this morning.  Both of these items will cause water retention.  I watch my sodium intake because I can go up two to three pounds overnight if I eat a few chips.  I try to keep my sodium under 2000 mg.  So don't fret, you should have tha****er weight back off tomorrow.  You are doing really good.

Good Morning!! It's cool here and on the verge of turning COLD this week. I have to confess that the long weekend and a house full of teenage boys (and their snacks) for the weekend was not kind to my weigh in this morning (Hey - I've gotta blame somebody!!) I realized that I hadn't come close to drinking as much water as I need. The more I drink this morning the thirstier I get. All in all I was up a pound from last Monday. Thankfully since I started getting things back on track I know how to make some quick tweaks and get things going again. Knowledge really is power.

Commute:   Coffee with Splenda & ff French Vanilla

Breakfast:     Dry Cereal (can't remember the name but it was a high fiber/low sugar - divided out into ziplocs for ease)

Snack:           Orange

Lunch:            Ham on Wheat w/ greek yogurt

snack:            Coffee w/ half &half and splenda            -       string cheese & almonds

Dinner:           Grilled chicken salad

Dessert:         Strawberries

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

Good Company and good food go together.  It is my down fall too.  I look at it this way, if I lose all week and then gain it back on the weekend then I have at least broke even with a fresh start for the next week, and I have had some wonderful memories from the weekend.  Have a great day!

Saw my new doctor yesterday and he really isn't new.  I didn't realize until I got there that he was my gynecologist when I lived here before between 1995 and 2000.  In addition to his OB-GYN practice he is working with bariatric patients.  He has me on an 800 calorie program for 2 weeks and then will up it to 1200 calories.  He offers pre-packaged foods which I really think is what I need right now.  No thinking just grab and eat.  The break down is as follows:

calories for now - 800 day

Protein                  40%

healthy fat             30%

complex carbs        30%

meals also contain all the vitamins, minerals, and amino acids needed for good nutrition that the body cannot manufacture.

I will continue to take my vitamins in addition to the meals.

I must have at least 64 oz of zero calorie liquids per day of which 32 oz must be pure water.

I will try to ride my recumbent bike for 30 minutes at least 3 times a week.  Hopefully my knees will allow.

I may try to walk outside today.  The weather her in SE Texas is gorgeous.

Tomorrow I take my sister to her doctor visits and then bring her home with me for a few days.   Hopefully we will have the results from the pathology reports.  She completed chemo a few weeks ago and had a mastectomy on the 8th.  She still has radiation to go and whatever else they tell us tomorrow.  Another reason why grab and eat food is what I need now.  My brain can only dwell on so many things at once.

((hugs)) back to you.  I hope your sister gets good results tomorrow.  Sometimes we just need others to do the planning for us.  Do what the doctor says and you will find yourself back on the right path.

Hi Tess and Botts,

I thought I posted this morning, either it's under another heading or floating out in space somewhere, or I am, lol! Anyhow I changed my lunch since then. I don't know what to do about my diet. I start out with a good plan it seems and then I end up with too many calories. I guess getting rid of carbs except for veg, fruit and dairy may help. Hopefully I will get on the stick and these carb cravings will go away, arg, You still got that cheese Tess.

Today so far:

B1: egg in a basket
B2: egg, egg white, slice of cheese, T of salsa
Snacks: 2 bananas and an apple
L: Bowl of homemade chicken noodle and 10 satines
D: swiss steak w/ mshroom gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans
S-2 cookies
about 6 cups of coffee

Have a good one, it's 9 degrees with wind chill below 0 and windy

Please stay inside and keep warm.  Brrrrrr!! makes me cold just seeing your temperature there.  Yes, you are carb laden and that is probably what is keeping you from dropping the lbs.  You need to do a 3 day detox and get rid of the carbs and sugar and you will probably feel must better because of it.  It won't work though until you are ready to do it.  How was that for some CHEESEEEEEEEEE! kiss
