The before surgery diet was suppose to shrink the liver - my 4 week diet plan called for low fat 4-5 proteins drinks a day + simple meal, or low fat proteins + veggies, no more than an additional 1 tsp of fat per day (beside what was in proteins shakes).

That was not really liver detox - but liver shrinking diet.

There are some programs - natural herbs or methods to "clean the liver" but I am not sure if you can do any of them post op RNY...

You had VSG - so that may be OK for you:

there is: Master cleanse (google that)

or Dr Clark's liver cleanse http://www.drclark.net/cleanses/advanced/liver-cleanse-page

or Dr Schulze liver cleanse...  https://www.herbdoc.com/index.php/Store/5-Day-Liver-Detox-Pr ogram

In the past I did all of them (different times of my life) until RNY I was able to keep my GB and I did not have any stones.
