Back On Track Together
9.5 years out, 80lbs up and now BOT. Help.

I am so defeated. I met with my surgeon and a nutritionist a year ago to try to kick start but I am having such a hard time getting my brain back in that mode that I had almost a decade ago.
I am ok for a day or two, but then it all goes to heck and I wind up with fast food and no working out or even walking. I need to find a way to get my head right or ill regain it all back. Ideas?
Well, its hard to get back to the basic. I would start with a 5 day pouch test to detox. It takes me about 3 tries to make it full five days.
As of this weekend I am back to getting up at 5:30 am and get in a 30 minute work at home. I purchase the Tread climber ask birthday present to myself. I workout with Wii Active (Tennis only). I have the tai bo boxing dvd, and the total gym as well as Jillian Michaels Body Revolution and Zumba....So I have no excuse to not work out. I find its easier for me to get a workout in first thing in the morning.
On Sunday, I cooked a few protein items and put them in serving size containers (freeze and leave some out) so I can grab and go. I am back to tracking EVERYTHING I eat. And a place a star on my calendar for each day I work out.
And when I have a need for sugar, I purchased 12 boxes of the Atkins bars online from Walmart.
You know what you have to do because you've done it before....you have to find a reason to kick it back into gear, mine is my 30th high school class reunion in July.
If it helps post every day. Those of us may not post everyday as I did earlier this year and it kept accountable (working out, drinking water, eating right). It help me and I got with 15 pounds of my goal than I experence vetigo and I started regaining because it became hard to work out because I felt like I was all ways spinning. So, with the new meds I now feel like my old self. I am down 5 pounds since last week.
I tend to lurk on the board as many so if you posting daily be assured that some of us are reading but may not always respond.
Good luck!

I may try that pouch test again, you are right about the multiple attempts to get it through it. I've never made it though all the days successfully. Repeated failed attempts don't exactly raise the confidence as I'm sure you know.
Will try to keep my head up and press on.
For me it also includes not just what I eat but what I am thinking when I eat. I am an all or nothing thinker, so either I am 100 percent or I am a failure! So I really have to watch that because it can derail me if I slightly deviate from perfection, then I fall off the rails for the whole day, and then promise to start again "tomorrow". So I try to plan ahead, and forgive myself for small errors and try to keep my perspective, then I follow the WLS rules which you seem to know. You can do it, but you need to tell yourself you can, and try to believe it!

Oh yeah, I can completely relate to the one failure to derail you. Planning ahead is a good idea, I do struggle with that as my husband is a very finicky eater. He is also prone to "surprise I brought home dinner/fast food" nights. Course, he can pack away insane portions of these high calorie foods and his weight only fluxes a tiny bit. Ill have a bite of it and once I taste fast food wind up eating too much and pay for it by being uncomfortable and on the scale.
Once I blow my "good girl" behavior it just doesn't end. An hour later I am back in the kitchen looking for a dessert. Then a bed time snack. Ugh.
Hang in there. You have to get your husband on board with you. And if he can't it won't hurt to have your dinner at a different time than his or have your meals in another room from him so your watching him eat. Let him fix his own food. It's hard to turn a blind eye when the take out food smells so good. However, you have to think about yourself at this time. If you really really need that dessert purchase some of the Atkins Bars or Balance Protein Bars because they provide the protein you need. Today for my mid-day melt down I have in my lunch bag an Atkins Snack/Light Meal Bar - Advantage: Dark Chocolate Almond Coconut Crunch Bar it's 190 calories and 5 protein
I read all the posts so far on this topic.
My dietitian said people tend to lose the 1st year, maintain the second year and gain the 3rd year. Just a word of warning to those who are under 3 years out. It is typical and we need to fight to keep weight off. (sorry I know no one wants to hear that). Also remember many people are able to fight through it.
I agree that working out some sort of plan with your husband would be a good idea. I asked my husband to eat his snacks at work and he does.
I know I lose better when I exercise. Metabolism, endorphins, better self esteme...who knows! It just helps.
Coming to this group also helps me. I don't know why I don't visit here daily? It helps. Tri
