Back On Track Together
Sunday, August 19 Cafe and Cardio
Hi ladies!
Cooking up a storm today for the week. Deviled eggs, tuna salad and some type of chicken casserole. Also have meat loaf in the fridge. Gotta get my water in today. My scale measures water % and you are supposed to be 50% and I am 45%. I am 5% dehydrated. That is just awful. Got to get that up today. Any suggestions for a chicken type casserole? I am thinking just cook it in cream of chicken soup and throw some frozen mixed veggies in and putting cheese on top. My baby can eat it for supper this week Have to get the chicken very tender for him.
Tess and Hala, hope you ladies are well. Hala, update me on your iron infusions? I *think* my iron is ok now. I need to order more from Vitalady, though.

I am doing OK. Will update more on iron tomorrow.
Chicken cream soup may have lot of carbs.
I do it easy: chicken + cut up non starchy veggies +jar of salsa (natural - no sugar added). In slow cooker for 6 hrs. If you use cream soup - any kind - make sure it is not too high in simple carbs.

I just finished my last iron infusion, and the 4 weeks were tough. I do not remember them being that difficult the last time, but then again last year I had them 4 day in one week so if I had any side effects - they did not lasted that long nor did I knew that the iron caused that.
This year - with one day a week iron - I had the same issue every week and bu the time my body was getting over them - I had another infusion.
They gave me IV Benadryl , steroids and Zantac. The meds were suppose to help with the iron side effects and to make sure I do not get too strong allergic reaction to the iron. They helped in some things but they also caused some side effects. And once my body dealt with that - it was the next week and I had them repeat all over again.
Some of the side effects includes steroids high and then low, indigestion then acid rebound (after IV antacid) abdominal cramps and of course constipation - which combined with cramps and indigestion is not a good thing.
I know it may take me a few more days to get back to normal. For now I am waking up almost every day with sore throat and acid reflex.
I sure hope that my iron and ferritin will be up high enough so I do not have to deal with that again anytime soon.
